I think he’s truly in shock here at how his own brother could’ve had their friends daughter. His own brother had kidnapped his niece’s good friend. It’s bizarre because both of these men radiate gentle kindness yet just looking at a photo of Ariel Castro and you can just sense negativity.

Well what sucks is the families of bad people are always treated this way. These guys seem sincere. They don't deserve the ridicule they will be punished with but they're probably going to have to deal with it the rest of their lives because of their piece of shit brother. It takes one person to turn a whole family into evil in the society we live in.

Me, too. So many people also wrongly accuse family members of people like Castro, and serial killers, too....for not doing and/or knowing more. They are often ostracized and blamed for something they had nothing to so with. They have a family member that they loved and trusted who committed such heinous crimes thst can never be erased our unattached to their family name. How sad and horrible...when almost always the family is just as innocent as the victims.

People seem to forget they’re also victims of Ariel Castro. If I recall, there was a lot of guilt from one (or both) of the brothers because they felt like if they had just sensed SOMETHING, maybe they could’ve helped the girls sooner. Fact is that man had family and friends over to the house and that’s so bizarre. And none of them knew the missing girls they’d been seeing were in his house. They had no clue that their friends daughter was there. His own daughter had no clue he was the one to take her friend. Ariel Castro has far more than three victims and these two men are part of that.

Those two were only in that interview for themselves. I do believe that the one (Oniel) didn’t know anything about the girls. But Pedro had to know his brother Ariel had something really bad to hide but feared that somehow he would lose his rights. His English wasn’t anything like his brother’s, Oniel. Feel Pedro could have told his brother Oniel about the bazaar way Ariel acts and compare stories and have authorities do an anonymous check well being on their brother. You don’t just wake up one day and have the urge to satisfy the urges Ariel had. The brother’s knew he was capable of it.

No one saw this coming, and I think you’re just trying to place blame in this situation, but there’s only ONE person to blame in this case, and that’s Ariel Castro.

Shay Shay again, why would the girls hold back now? They're free, Ariel is dead, and they've told the story a number of times. How could they still be so brainwashed not to mention someone else? Those girls have the protection on a nation now, so I'm sure there is nothing these two could do to intimidate them. It's easy to assume, but logic should tell you otherwise. Ariel built a prison! He was a handy man so he knew about insulation and sound proofing. Sections of the house were boarded off or made to look really junky and unappealing so people would have no reason to go in those areas. Also, I have siblings. We live in the same town and we rarely see each other. Unlike these guys, we're close! But there was a time where I didn't actually visit my sister's house for 3 years. So I can see how 10 years can go by and you only visit a few times. Combine that with no appealing reason to explore the house, and it makes sense. We'll never know the 100% truth, but these guys haven't given us a reason, nor do the circumstances give us a reason to believe they were involved. Using your logic, it's more likely that a neighbor was involved. Seeing how the neighbors were at and around the house more frequently than the brothers.

Not to mention that these two brothers stories state what even his kids say, whey they visited Arial's he either wouldn't let them pass the front door or only in the kitchen with music or tv on.

There needs to be a law passed that when someone is abducted every fucking house in the city or state is searched top to bottom. I bet a lot more missing people would be found. We could all take part by investigating people's behavior, being aware of what's around us at all times and taking the initiative to speak up if something seems out of the ordinary. I know that may be strange in some cases but there's nothing compared to freeing people of torment like those three women have been freed. I wish that bastard Ariel was still alive, locked in a box as small as him, fed only enough to keep him alive to continue suffering forever. But then again, there's no pain worse than hell. Thanks to the brothers for speaking out!

Shelly Parrit Don't be ridiculous. The resources that would be needed to search every single house in a city, let alone a entire state would be crazy. Not even mentioning the legal issues. You need to check yourself before you rek yourself.

born 2 biscuit My thoughts too, Ryan. Well, some of my thoughts anyway. ;-) I do understand Shelly's heart & why she's saying this. Wanting to fix whats broken in our system. I agree and yes, it needs to be fixed for sure - in MANY ways! & yes, more needs to be done in cases like this. But! her suggestion is not well thought-out. Instead its based purely on emotion. I get it. But, we cant do that. IMO, that suggestion would do more harm than it would do good. This feeling, obviously due to people's RIGHTS w/ their freedom & privacy (to an extent), being violated EVEN MORE than it is ALREADY (these days!). IDK what exactly needs to happen to correct things like this (And MUUUCH MORE), but it needs to be thought out with many great minds & acted upon within our Government OR THEN PEOPLE, IF ALLOWED - AND QUICK it needs to be done! I DO, I personally believe in definitely changing the law from that ridiculous current protocol - having to wait a FULL 24 hours BEFORE even treating a case as a "missing persons" case!? WTF!?!? (i.e. 24 hours BEFORE EVEN STARTING to LOOK into something when a parent calls with suspicions or straight up says, "they're gone & its NOT like them"! ITS INSANE (IMO) that THAT is just overlooked! Especially when I see that OTHERS do NOT follow that same protocol. What do I mean by "others" specifically? I mean "peace" officers - of ALL types) AND Government officials - OF ALL BRANCHES as well. Ive seen this repeatedly! When its THEIR loved ones, its IMMEDIATE that they start everything! Im serious. This IS truth! NOT right!!! Also to add to my issues with this ridiculous law, its allowing the criminal too much, way too much, of a head start on us. The criminals KNOW this law... and they use it to their advantage! I mean, duh! IMO, THAT HAS to change, yesterday! Yes, plus there's SO much more. And again Shelly, I see where your heart is, I do, I get it. But we need a better plan than what we have currently in our Country & what many of us, even, have suggested. WE THE PEOPLE CAN PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER ANNND MAKE THIS HAPPEN!! I believe that - with ALL of my heart! (Thanks for your input, Shelly & Ryan/AKA Born2Biscuit!)

Shelly Parrit LOL it would be more practical for all people to have a GPS unit implanted in their body that had a sensor for a pulse. That way if someone went missing, within minutes- the authorities could find their location and whether or not they were alive. Reality is- its a complete invasion of privacy, and although it would help in many situations. (Identity theft, kidnapping, jumping bail, etc.) There is no way it would become legal.... LOL and the wrong people would hack it to find people in witness protection programs and stuff

I’m so sorry you both had to suffer through this. I have followed this case for years and cried many tears over it. This is the first time I heard your stories and can’t imagine how painful it must be for you. After hearing the girls talk about how when people including hos daughter would visit, they would be told to stay quiet and did it because they were terrified he would kill everyone. I’m sure they were taught to fear you. Or might have just assumed you might be involved. It’s no surprise you didn’t know and I can’t imagine the pain you have felt not only having to be associated with him and his crime but to also have lost your brother to suicide. My heart goes out to you and I pray you have found peace in all of this. Love from Canada ❤️

I've been around a few wackos and people who were hiding something (not as horrible as this, of course), and usually when they are confronted/threatened, they turn around and blame you instead, I can see Ariel saying something like if any questions arose: "What kind of a brother you are, questioning me, don't trust me or something?". Basically what that does is puts pressure on the other person and the relationship, and the other person usually backs off to maintain the relationship... only to find later that, in fact, something WAS hidden
