Ойын-сауық
George Oliphant makes his way to Franklin Square, New York to surprise the DiMarco Family with a crazy home renovation. In this episode of George to the Rescue, an attic that is sweltering hot in summer and freezing in the winter gets transformed into a livable space.

Personally, I don't always like the results of some renovations. But those involved did an outstanding job on this one. And I have to complement how beautiful the DiMarco Family kept the _front of the house:_ "Home & Gardens" lovely! ~ Probably the gifted-touch of Mrs. DeMarco. I hope they are doing well. 🌿🌺
Fanuka and Geoge make a great team...good job guys.
First, I LOVE the hidden playroom! My only problem is I would not be comfortable with an upstairs master suite when my young children are downstairs with potential access to kitchen and exit doors without my being aware. I love the exterior and not even sure why, it just looks so cute.
I love watching George and Fanuka working together. Their a Great team!
The hidden room doubles as a great panic room if they ever need one
What a beautiful woman!
Amazing job ! I just worry about having parents upstairs with children downstairs alone at night...

This was beautifully done. Though I would really prefer parents to be downstairs for security, make sure no one leaves through the door without them knowing.
This was a stunning transformation !! 😊😊🌟🌟👍👍
"No smell" i am sorry but i love the smell of new paint it just gives the room a fresh feeling.
Fanuka is a great guy love it when it’s him and George!! They rock......
I love when George has Steve on the show. They are both funny and gorgeous.!!!!! This is one of my favorite shows, don't know why it isn't a hit on HGTV!!!!!!!!

How I wish you do the same at my home in the Philippines. Been working for a long time and never haven't done my small townhouse any renovation at all because of financial problems and kids growing. Such inspiring stories. Your team is great and continues being inspired to help others. God Bless you all.❤❤❤
when they finish lunch they just decide to destory their kitchen loooool😂😂😂😂😍
I wish there was someone for our little town in the NW that could help do these renovations to help people. Of 1600 households the food bank has 300+ for whom they provide. Any one of the 14+ churches could provide a list of the neediest of their parishioners. Poor is poor regardless of ethnic background.
Thank you for caring about their heat and cold and space problems. God bless you as you bless others.
What a lovely home on the outside, really nice ! Inside isn't to shabby either !!!♥️ ☮️🙏💜
New subscriber here. I love what they did for this family. The only thing I would've changed was making the "play room" a bathroom. That would make it so much easier in the middle of the night than having to go downstairs. It would also have increased even more the resale value of the house. I can't wait to watch more episodes of this show. Well done George & crew.

Incredible! This is absolutely beautiful. The upstairs is just amazing but to think that you were able to give them an actual dining table. I love that idea! Love love love it! Thank you for all you do! :-)
Wow transformation is awesome and the couple is so goof looking and their kids are adorable. Well in the end George you are amazing as well as good looking. Enjoy watching your videos. Two thumbs up. 👍 👍
Fakuna is in the house again.. I love it..
I am so happy for this couple and their children. As a homeowner in New York I completely understand the issues with buying a place and then find the surprises you weren't really expecting. Most houses do not have central air and it is crucial to have good insulation in order to make the place livable. This is the first time I see a makeover show that actually goes to New York and I am pleased about that. You have a new subscriber! That attic master bedroom came out fantastic, the way you maximize the space, the beautiful finishes on the walls and the furniture, I could imagine how it felt being there a breath of fresh air. The kids rooms came out beautiful too! Everything was fantastic and I don't think they could have don it without you.

I noticed all those air conditioners and it seemed sort of odd to me, especially since they weren't positioned in the windows like they usually are here. I had no idea that it was common in NY not to have central AC. And now, of course, I'm wondering why that is? Are forced air/gas furnaces uncommon in NY? Adding central air when there is already ductwork in place for a gas furnace is a piece of cake/not that expensive. I'm really curious because here in the midwest central AC is so common that it's more unusual to find homes without it; even in much older homes that have a boiler/steam heat people still tend to install central AC using other options like soft ducts. Does it have anything to do with the climate? Do they install central AC in new builds?

@@claudeusgothicus6453 NY is an old city, a lot of the buildings are pre war era, and the homes too, yes there are newer buildings with central AC but a lot of homes still use oil to heat in winter (radiators in every room) and most people with houses dating 1940s 50s have window ACs, and of course brand new construction have central air...

Ok people if you think they need a master bath go and give them one instead of complaining about it. George to the rescue did what they can and the family is happy. I like that they gave them a better dining space. I think that is even better than getting another bathroom.

Great job with exception of that horrific pink. I would be heading to the paint store if I was faced with that colour.
STEPHEN FANUKA!!!! My favorite contractor on this show.
Wow!!! Just found your channel, I love it !!!!!!!!! 😊🤗
This is an OUTSTANDING transformation and the Clever design team have totally MAXIMIZED the living space in this rather small house. The ONLY thing I think I would change, is the banister end surrounding the staircase so that there was a little bit more privacy as you are coming up the stairs into the Master bedroom.
Mannnn yall did an awesome job!!!
Beautiful work! The little boy and girl are so adorable.
Such a beautiful job!! PLEASE, No beanbag chairs with 2y and younger in the house! A very good friend had one flip of we on their son and he couldn’t get out from under it. All it took was 2 mins and they lost him. That’s like going to the bathroom amount of time. PLEASE! Don’t have beanbag chairs in your home with little ones!❤️
Phenomenal job of fixing up the place, total gut job and redo of the loft or upper storey top floor whatever you guys call it - we dont usually have loft spaces and attics or basements in Australia, different architecture altogether... Very nice upgrade, it needed it and they went the extra mile, "& then some" & they have added value to the home, which they could sell now! :P But I have to agree with some that it's not practical to separate the parents from the kids, (Possibly just did it for design value to show possibilities??) & theyre going to have to swap rooms after everyone leaves! Hahaah Thats probably why the space was taken up in the first section with no open area for a sitting or play room... and maybe also why no bathroom upstairs for those saying that it should have one...
Looking great.. and fun to watch... ty
Amazing! Blown away, it looks so cool!!!
beautiful!
Wow!!! Amazing transformation!!!
Great job
I just found ur channel. Im so happy i did.... cant wait to see the final....

Don't think I would want my kids to be downstairs by themselves at that age. Nor would I want to be upstairs without a bathroom. Couldn't they have added a room onto the house?
@jb6712

Probably city zoning ordinances and building codes wouldn't permit; also, children are far safer downstairs in this instance if a fire breaks out--firefighters can get to them much more readily than if they had to navigate the rather tight upstairs.
@judil3294

I agree. I worry more about them being closer to the outside and kitchen than fire. I wonder if accident statistics would bear me out. Also, for resale would a downstairs master be better? In the end though you do the best you can with what you have. Growing up with 4 siblings and 1 bath has made me feel 2 baths are essential.

No place up there to put one. They can't magically add rooms without there being the room, and it looked as if there was no way to add room, even with a shed dormer. That would entail beefing up the foundation in order to support all the added weight, a mighty costly bit of work.. The couple is young, strong, healthy, and likely doesn't mind going up and down the stairs for their bathroom needs, at least for a while.They did get what they wanted--a fully usable attic--and they appear to be very happy, so....their call, not anyone else's.
@A2ADK
3 жыл бұрын
There’s also no plumbing up there. You could run plumbing but they are looking at thousands of dollars and that’s IF it can even be done. Not to mention, in a “suburb” type neighborhood like this one, the public water/sewage system is only equipped to handle the designated amount of bathrooms per home that already exist. They’d likely never get the permit to do so even if they wanted to
Best part attic and play room
Fanuka was an awesome personality for this show!
No master bath? It’s not a master suite without a bathroom. If they have to use a bathroom in the middle of the night, they have to negotiate stairs. If one of them is sick and needs “immediate “ need, they’ll be in trouble!
Im from manila and im so fan of this show.how i wish we have something like this in our country.i went other country to work to built our house but things came across.now i go abroad to work again hoping we could finally finish it.

With the parents upstairs and two young kids on the ground floor, I would have put child safety bars on the bedroom windows. At least in the baby's room.

YESHASettler I'd would never live above my young children unless it was no more than three steps , and had an open view of each room. Not practical or sensible at all for their ages. They should have put the two girls together, gave the boy a room and renovated the parents room on the same floor. The upstairs could have been a full playroom/office . This wouldn't work for most folk with young kids who are curious, irresponsible and simply unable to defend themselves if someone broke in or even a fire broke out!
