It's human to make mistakes. We should face up to realistic issues. Singapore cultures and politics need to align with realities of humanities and real life issues. Political development is part of life And life is real. We need face up to real life issues. So should politics.

He said that ministers are expected to know everything about the ministries, my question is how are newly elected MPs who turn into ministers in just a few short months supposed to know everything there is to know about the ministry? Is he telling us that anyone can become a minister by attending some internal crash course? Then I would think that such ministers don't warrant a million dollar paycheck since they are easily repleacable.

The short answer is, its Up To the Voters who they choose as govt. Its not up to you. Thats why the Vote is Sacred

All the ministers who made mistake base on bad judgement got take responsibility mehhhh??? Really??? Haiyah, sorry, getting old liao, got bad memory. Anyway, no matter what PAP, don't worry you all still champions, Minister's are from which party? Anyway, opposition is just the citizens voice mah. If going against your ideal just buat bodoh sua. One party monopoly is also bad. 2 strong party system can be good. If govt is not good enough, change for a better one. If PAP is very good, the other party will be opposition for a long time. Let people have a choice to evaluate the govt. Do not underestimate other party that can serve people as well.

You are right PM lee. Pm abesan did make the change because he was given a chance and so did PM Kishida .Which means you should also give others a chance ,retire and enjoy your life.

PAP cannot even hand over properly to the 4G mob....you think they can hand over to another party? The question to ask though is why the PAP always gives the narrative that if they are voted out, Singapore will face armageddon?

because theyve been the ruling party forever.a change in government would be a very drastic change for investors to adapt to.They have never seen the workers party in action but they have consistently seen results from the pap.Economically,the country will do worse for a brief period of time before it possibly stabilises.Singaporeans will cnfm make noise when unemployment rate increases --> i wouldnt say armageddon but there will be greater discontent for a period of time at least.

Abenomics is precisely why japan is in such mess. but as bad as things were, i would rather live there than in singapore during those intervening years between abe's premierships... certainly japan did much better in terms of GDP growth, savings rate, and social cohesion for the past 40 years than singapore. much better. so what really is he talking about?

The PAP is not allowing the viewers to entertain the thought of a successful opposition. The rhetoric is not PAP = bad for country. And this is untrue. Without the opposition, there is no checks and balances on decisions being made. And this cannot in any way benefit Singaporeans. if the PAP is true and genuine, then they should not be concerned with who wins the majority seat as it would be the best for the country.

The truth no one does thongs the same as the pap may Soho they are and the other party can do things differently because no human is the same we are all different but until they try none of us know what's the result is ever you.....

No Party is dispensible. Voters decide on governance. When the government of the day fails to deliver and fails to fulfil obligations to the electorate. The era of dominant political power is over . The balance of power is the new norm going forward. Accountability & Transparency irrespective whoever governs is the priority & perogative for parliamentary democracy. Balance of power only yardstick for voters . Undeniable & Indisputable fact.

Only Capable parenting by PAP for Singapore is a load Bull .by PM. Can't others equally parent Singapore or do better for Singaporean's ? Why is the PM pessimistic on the opposition parties ? .

That sounds like second-class citizenship to me. It's also not easy to "just get citizenship" in Singapore as you said, noone can get it in just two or three years, people are certainly not just walking in and getting citizenship. Have you not known any PRs who still have not gotten their citizenship despite being Singaporean through and through? (I know I answered a year late)

Singapore citizens get so many benefits over PR and foreigners in Singapore, it would not be in the government's interest to give out citizenship like complimentery sweets. I do want you to tell me how Singapore citizenship is so easy to obtain because it's good to know. Differentiating new citizens and natural citizens by things like voting rights is like creating second-class and first-class citizenry. What we can do instead is just make the process harder if it's so easy to get in. (Wasn't calling you a second-class citizen not my intention)

Dear Mr Martin Lee, you have obviously not witnessed the fall of a country and spoken to refugees? I HAVE. Many times when I was studying in Europe and now in the middle east. If we adopt such demands from the WP, we, as a small nation cannot handle the consequences that Europe and the middle east are suffering now. This is the PAP's usual tactic, to give the impression that the job of running a small city state of 5.6 million population, is so complicated and scary that only the PAP can do it. That shows that they are either too unqualified or incompetent that the task seems overwhelming to them. The people who hear this are supposed to be afraid to hand the government of the country to anyone else. Who are you trying to fool? If it's so difficult, why are some of the ministers holding two or three jobs, treating their ministerial role like a part-time job, while drawing a full minister's salary (which is not a small amount even by global standards)?? In fact this exaggeration of the task of governing the country is the very excuse the PAP has been using to justify their high salaries. As impossible as it may sound, Lim Tean is the best person for the job of PM, and a coalition of parties is what's needed for good government.

Useless worker party did not defend the rights of unvaccinated Sg citizens. Play along n get high salaries. Money talks. Same brand nothing new.
