actually if you look beyond surface attributes, western europe is in superior condition because of "rule of law" and "nuclear family structure". Basically a society that believes in its social contract will prosper, while a society that reverts to state of nature amongst itself, and eating itself up internally for printed papers would collapse or become a prey to foreign aggression. Politicians and bankers of Ukraine and Taiwan are very corrupt. Its not NATO's or CIA's problem.

CCP knows NATO wouldnt allow unification. Bankers and Politicians in Taiwan want to intentionally mess around and say they always wanted reunification if it were to happen one day. I know Ukrainian corruption from the day I saw this country. I'd blame three things: 1. Russia: Russian government has successfully infiltrated into Ukrainian system that bankrolling the country's economy, and making it part of Russian assets. And so corruption became widespread. 2. Ukrainian leadership: despite toppling Yanukovych, successors like Poroshenko and Zelensky proved to be disaster when they have no idea about the economy. In addition, Poroshenko also has assets in Russia. Zelensky has close relations with Russian authorities despite claiming himself President of Ukraine. 3. US and EU's negligence: you want Ukraine to be a democracy, many Ukrainians want to be democracy, but instead of trying to educate people, the Americans further bankrupted by supporting candidates that proven to be even worse than before. So I am not confidence of Ukraine at all.
