How FIFA corrupted the World Cup

And how Russia and Qatar took advantage of it.
Subscribe to our channel! goo.gl/0bsAjO
On December 2, 2010, FIFA announced the 2022 World Cup would take place in a surprising country, Qatar. At that same meeting, they also announced that the 2018 World Cup would take place in Russia. These selections set off a new chapter in FIFA’s history, one where the public would have a greater sense on how bribery and corruption have a huge role in who gets to host this international sporting event.
The last 14 World Cup locations were decided by a group of 24 powerful men within FIFA called the executive committee. Their votes meant a lot to bidding nations and allegations on bidders bribing members of the committee lingered for decades. These allegations reached a new level when criminal investigations were launched nearly five years after that FIFA announcement. The fallout of these investigations nearly broke FIFA and tainted the World Cup.

The World Cup isn't corrupt when the host is a western nation but when the countries you don't like get to host it, it becomes corrupt. If you want to have a separate World Cup, maybe you guys should organize your own World Cup filled with your own teams while the "corrupt" countries that are left out host their own World cup. 32 countries play in the World Cup. Europe gets 13 slots, which is almost half of the available slots and half of the number of countries in Europe. Meanwhile, Africa, which has 54 countries (the most in the world), gets just 5 slots. If that isn’t corruption, then tell me what is.

We even know how much money was given to who and who made the deals .. France vs Croatia semi finals sold to France for 17 million euro and political help for Croatia during our post war time. France vs Croatia finals sold for 32 million euro and back up to entering EU community. My dears the world cup is nothing but a political market . what i find strange is that in 2022 after so many documentaries on how all world cups were fixed people still watch it and think something will change..

The bribe-taking and bribe-giving I think happened in New York City. Under Interpol rules, if a crime happens in U.S. territory and there is strong evidence--video evidence, witness evidence, etc.--showing said crimes occurred within the U.S., then the FBI and other U.S. authorities can then call for those alleged criminals to be hailed back to the U.S. to be tried in U.S. courts. All signatories to Interpol are allowed this privilege. So if criminals commit crimes on Swiss soil, and those criminals then escape to the U.S., then Swiss police authorities can demand that the U.S. hail those criminals and send them to Switzerland to bring them to justice in Swiss courts.

This is mentioned though, earlier in the video. Even so, that money still had to come out of Germany's coffers, so the government is also partially to blame.

Actual German here. Blackwater 49 is correct and the commenters insinuating that the money used by the DFB to bribe FIFA officials was tax money or saying that "the money comes from the same place" are embarrassing themselves with their ignorance. If you don't know anything about the facts, why comment at all?

You noticed all the penalty’s given to Argentina ? Yellow cards hardly being given to Argentina throughout the tournament ? And Especially the match against The Netherlands where Messi should have got a yellow card for hands-ball and a yellow card for shooting the ball to the Dutch bench (if not red directly) When he cried & complained the referee blew his whistle..
