Ex-Mormons Relive Temple Experience

DISCLAIMER - This video discusses and shows temple clothing, temple rituals, etc. If this is upsetting or offensive to you in any way, don't watch! This is stated in the video multiple times, but I want to provide ample warnings to make sure you don't see anything you don't want to see. I don't want people to feel ostracized or uncomfortable, but this is REAL. This was a HUGE part of my life, and I should have the freedom to talk about that. I didn't know what I was getting into when I was baptized OR when I went through the temple. This is not new information, it's not "exposing" anything. The temple rituals (and their close relative, masonic rituals) are available to view and learn about online: • Mormon Temple: FILMED ...

What one is told during the crucial, formative years, he will likely carry with him for life. Religious people know this all too well, which is why they're so focused on the education of young people. If indoctrination skipped one generation, I bet all religions would rapidly fizzle out.

When my mom found out I was "having doubts" she thought that getting me endowed would save my testimony. But getting a temple recommend would have cost me thousands of dollars in the tithing money I'd stopped paying, so I watched this instead. I officially decided to leave that same day! Now, nine months later, I'm happier than I've ever been. Thanks so much for doing this!

Why do you think getting your temple recommend would cost you money? They do not cost money. They do not require you to pay back-pay on your tithing to get your money. Tithing is optional as well as your temple recommend. I’m glad you didn’t get one. You obviously are not ready if you think going to the temple would help your testimony. A testimony is a personal thing between you and Jesus Christ. The church’s sole purpose is to help you get closer to Jesus Christ. They don’t force anyone to do anything. It blows my mind how many falsehoods are spread about our church. It’s ok to have doubts. It is your job to deal with your doubts as you please.

I'm hearing more and more horror stories of how Individuals add their own flavor to what is to be taught. I think they cause a lot of damage cuz it's Not The Lord's way. How did they get so far from the prescribed way, that is clear if the handbook is read???? What Really appalls me is what some bishops have done. Where are their Area leaders? There will be influences from all sides trying to poison the Church, we know this. But what about the people that they have "destroyed"? I'm resilient and know the Gospel but I just found out recently that not everyone is like me. Well, the ones that do Church work in their own way will be held accountable and it won't go well. But still, the ones that are led astray 😢

It’s not a secret. This is spoken about in the Old Testament. The name is sacred, yes. Remember, even temple workers are human. No body is perfect. They all respond to things differently. It’s not about secrets it’s about the sacredness of the ceremonies. Every religion has some sort of sacredness to their beliefs. I’m not sure why there is such an obsession from people about trying to talk negatively about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Then I just started reading about this Church out of nowhere, and my view about him changed completely. I really don't get how a rational adult could believe in all of this. And I also read they expect non believers who date believers to convert to their religion. LOL, that was not going to happen. As a mother, grandmother, and ex-Mormon in Utah of nearly 50 years, I never went through the temple because of the things I had heard you have to do. The thought to me was nauseating and scary at age 18, let alone wearing garments for the rest of my life. Any testimony I thought I had was pure fear stoked by the hierarchy of Mormonism. My sweet grandmother was a Methodist and the best person I have ever known, and the LDS Church was telling me she was not going to Heaven. That really was the last straw. I have to say that I never believed Joe Smith was a prophet of any kind. I know the history of the church and country at that time, and I couldn't fathom his plagiarizing parts of the Bible, the CES letter, and the Book of Abraham, among others, as anything other than blasphemous to the real word of God. Smith was an opportunist and a criminal, nothing else. It makes me happy to see that other people have seen the light and have studied their way out of the Mormon Church.

Jacquie Fraser Because of this love, it is the nature of the Father to improve everything and everyone to the extent that they will allow. Out of preexisting chaos, matter unorganized, the Father created an orderly universe. Out of preexisting intelligence, he begat spirit children. Even those of his children who will not cooperate and obey, and who cannot therefore become like him, he still saves, if they will allow it, and places them in lesser kingdoms of glory (D&C 76:42-43; see Salvation): "For behold, this is my work and my glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39). The love of the Father is not limited to those who worship and obey him, although their rewards will be greatest, but it is extended to all of his children.

That brought back alot of memories. It reminds me of the time when I was an "all-in" believing member. When you believed in the church literally you just did what you felt you had to do - no questions asked. I had neat spiritual experiences that only confirmed what I already believed about Mormonism. What got me out, you ask ? A social falling out in a congregation setting. Someone said something out loud meant for me to hear as a social poke and I knew I had become an object of gossip in that congregation. I collapsed emotionally which lead to a faith and identity crisis. Super hard at first, but I later realized it was a blessing in disguise.

I was so nervous when I went for my endowment because for some reason I was convinced that for the "washing and annointing" part I was going to have to be naked. No one ever told me that I don't know why I thought that but I honestly thought that's what was going to happen. Now I'm in my 30s and a few years back I was watching a Netflix documentary about Freemasonry and although it never said anything about LDS church it was very obvious how Joseph Smith came up with the temple ceremony. I don't really believe any of it anymore but my wife loves it and it makes her happy, same with my family, so I just kinda keep my thoughts about it to myself.

That was great you guys! I’m so glad you did this video. You are absolutely correct about Mormons considering the garments sacred. I am an ex-mo too but most of my family is still Mormon. When my mom passed away we went into a room together to get her dressed and of course she was to be buried in her temple clothes so my sisters were talking to eachother about me being in there and seeing her temple clothes (right in front of me). They were actually considering not letting me be a part of dressing her because I would see these sacred clothes and I wasn’t supposed to. They ultimately decided to “allow” me to actually take part in it but I was very offended that they would even consider not letting me see my own mother. It made no sense to me because during her viewing EVERYONE would end up seeing her. Members or non members. It’s just so ridiculous and they contradict themselves all the time.

I'm glad I made myself sit through this. I used to have mini panic attacks whenever I would go to the temple and see people in their temple clothes. I used to think I was just taken aback because they're sacred clothing and I don't see them outside the temple. No. It was a legitimate panic attack. I hated everything about the endowment ceremony. I was so upset whenever anyone asked me to be in the prayer circle, especially when I went through for the first time. I remember the last time I went, 2.5 yrs ago, I was still TBM. I was having such a bad panic attack that I thought I had committed some grave sin and this was God telling me I wasn't worthy to be in the temple. Whenever I told my mom I didn't enjoy the temple and it caused me anxiety she would say things like, "It's not supposed to be like that. You're supposed to feel love and peace in the temple." Further enforcing this idea that I had done something terribly wrong and that God was upset with me. Now I just flip off the building every time I drive by. @bombadillo2. I’m so sad that you left the faith. To members of who leave the church, 1 John 2:19 says “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” The mockery displayed in this video of something Latter-day Saints hold sacred is unchristian of people who say they believe in the Bible. Do they really? But Latter-day Saints had been tried since the early Pioneer days, even now and will be up to the second coming of Christ. Why? In D&C 136:31-33, the Lord says, “My people must be tried in all things, that they may be prepared to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion; and he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom. Let him that is ignorant learn wisdom by humbling himself and calling upon the Lord his God, that his eyes may be opened that he may see, and his ears opened that he may hear; For my Spirit is sent forth into the world to enlighten the humble and contrite, and to the condemnation of the ungodly,”

How a rabbi dresses? A muslim? This is no different. Easy to mock what you don’t understand or something that has no meaning to you. I assure you that there is so much more to latter day saints and Christ’s church on the earth. The mormons you met were happy bc they are filled with light and truth and follow Christ. Judging by the tree, you are missing a whole wealth or knowledge and goodness of the “forest” May you continue to seek light and god in your life and not mock things you don’t understand.

Who is following the Gospel of Jesus Christ? And Why? The doctrine of Christ or of Man? Are you like Alma the Younger or like Korihor? Which life do you live and why? It is your Choice! Choices come with consequences or Blessings! Cluty or the Church of Jesus Christ!
