It is true the cop may just be trying to fill a quota, it is true the cop may not be able to “prove” the speed but these things are not the point. If Abe was driving at 71 (or indeed a number close to this) then appropriate accountability is in the best interest of the community at large. If Abe was not speeding then it is indeed an example of police misconduct, and that is far worse than the 71 mph Dave may or may not have been driving. Did Abe learn anything apart from “I can get away with it” if he was speeding? We may never know unless Abe responds to us. Abe are you there? Dammit, we need to support our good police officers (who make up crimes to charge people with). It's getting to the point in this country that a good cop can't even walk up to a perfectly innocent citizen and falsely accuse them of a crime, cause them financial hardship, and possibly jail time just to pad their numbers. Oh, and don't get me started on the selfish citizens that don't want to take a bullet just because they are unarmed and pose no threat.

@@michaelwilson939 I am the first to point out the vast issues with bad policing. America absolutely has a major problem. However to suggest that there are no good ones is not only false of course but counter productive to the cause of improving the situation. Do you not want ‘good’ officers? If you go around accusing the good officers with a charge of being bad aren’t you doing the same thing, that is making false accounts against someone? All the good officers are our allies in this debate and I think more of us that demand a culture change need to start recognising that.
