Tbh I don’t blame her, she clearly loves the girls but what 14 year old wants to dance with 8-10 year olds. I’d also be over it if I was literally in high school dancing with elementary school kids, not only that but also if I wasn’t valued, pushed, or rewarded for anything no wonder why she didn’t like it. Also the fact Abby had them there from the second they get out of school (3-4pm) and keeping them until 11pm at night & on top of it competing every weekend so she had no time to be a teen a do teenage things.

It’s important to teach children to not be a sore loser…but EQUALLY important to be a GRACIOUS winner.

i can’t tell you how often me and my sister yell “Get your finger, out of my face!” at each other at random on the daily

ok the tea from Kelly and Christi's podcast is wild though... Abby used to be so close with Paige and Brooke that she was at their baptisms??? In s1 they point out moments Abby was holding their hands, how Brooke was the top dancer pre-show (part of why she was close with Maddie because she understood) and danced with the seniors... like brad you'd love it you should check out the pod!

@@NalyssaBalqis Amy already answered perfectly, but I’ll add that I’ve really enjoyed it, more than some of my favourite rewatch pods because they’re so *them* lol, like their personalities translate so well to podcasting just like they did to reality tv. They’re super honest about themselves and the situations and bts, and have a good sense of humour while also being serious about certain things, and their pacing is really good they go beat by beat through the episodes but they don’t drag… sorry I’m giving like a full review now lmao, but if it’s not clear I listen to many rewatch podcasts and theirs doesn’t fall into so many of the annoying pitfalls there can be. It’s just really well balanced as a podcast and really entertaining, and the tea gives so much perspective to just see the bigger picture for when I rewatch the show now! Highly recommend if you’re even remotely a fan of dance moms and podcasts, I’m not even a diehard fan but it’s really fun to accompany a rewatch with the podcast.

Yeah I think the question is in the episode Kelly asks for the month back and Brad was saying that previously she said she paid the year upfront meaning she would need the year credited not the month.

The interesting thing is that Abby kept telling Kelly especially that she never paid her or was always late. By this point production was paying for the girls studio and competition fees costumes etc. The parents weren’t paying for them at all.

I’ve seen people say Kendall had anxiety and that’s why she cried a lot. If that’s true then I can agree, as I have anxiety myself, that when you get stressed or upset, crying comes a lot quicker than people who don’t suffer with anxiety. I love these videos so much and I’m watching dance mums with my boyfriend atm as a big binge yet still watch every video you do😭♥️

I think it’s also important to remember that Kendall was only 8 yrs old in season 2. This environment can definitely be overwhelming for such a young child.

i believe she herself has stated she has panic induced anxiety. hearing a little girl say "my stomach hurts" when she's obviously extremely anxious is so heartbreaking for me because i get crippling stomach aches from my anxiety.

Edits (or not) aside, Melissa allowing the adults in Maddie’s lives to have these weird dynamics with Maddie makes her absolutely horrid.

What really pissed me off was when Abby goes in on Nia for her hair. BUT McKenzie basically had the same hairstyle a few episodes back and heard nothing from Abby. They both had their hair in messy pigtails/buns.

Their hair is literally always messy and falling out and Abby never gives a single sh*t, that was most likely the producers making drama and trying to make Abby seem racist, or maybe she just is, I don't know.

I was so mad that abby made a big deal about maddie's role and got mad when people weren't like... jumping for joy over it. but when chloe got the music video part she barely gaf and made a big cope about how it was better that maddie didn't get the part actually because her being a background dancer showcased her dancing more.

😭 i feel so bad for the girls tbh, even Kendall. Her mom is just really annoying. And i was also a quiet kid, so dance teachers scared me so much .?! If I had Abby as a dance coach I probably would cry everyday so I feel her 💔

Yea I really never saw kendall as a brat. Tbf i only watched the first four ish seasons, but till that point she didn’t seem to have any behavioural issues to me. I coach kids gymnastics/tumbling so believe me I’ve met some kids that are so much worse than sweet lil kendall.

You this show is giving me cheerleading flashbacks, especially during competitions. And there was a whole scandal cuz the Varsity coach would have us girls go to competitions, but put us in another category that was completely empty except for us. So they made us have our parents spend a munch of money on makeup and hair and uniforms/costumes, shoes, etc. just for them to get participation trophies. And get the favorites to do solos with choreographers and compete. And it wasn’t like they took the whole squad, there were auditions, and major cuts. I was surprised I got on the team because of my height. Every other girl was like 5’2 to 5’4 and you have a 5’7 14 year old in the fucking back hella standing out 😂

You should totally look up Paige’s full solo for “Crème de la Crème;” it is probably her best solo she ever did and the number is actually really dynamic and strong… they show literally 30seconds of the dance where it’s around 2 and a half minutes. It’s fantastic! You’d love the number!

I absolutely love Jill because she gives Abby exactly the same energy that she deserves.

27:55 Kelly says in BTTB that it WAS supposed to be Paige and the producers even promised Paige she would get it because this was the second role that was looking for a blonde and Chloé had won the first one (Lux Music video) but Kelly believes Abby had something to do with Maddie getting it or the producers did it for drama. (Paige literally LOOKS perfect for the role like it's insane)

Jill’s audacity was really the most entertaining part of this show

Before the show Abby’s dance company almost went bankrupt so the moms were keeping her business running cuz everyone kept leaving her dance studio.

I can’t wait for you to get to season 5-7 those are the most chaotic moments in dance moms

Any and Giana both admitted in a video a few years ago that the producers were the ones who came up with most of the dances in the first 2 seasons…..so no wonder they got the styles mixed up.

Can I just say, LIVING ON THE DANCEFLOOR! I had to do it.

Brooke has always been my favourite and still is. She was a beautiful dancer! And I’ve seen her say she was pushed so much with the contortion that her doctor said if she continued she would lose her ability to walk by the time she was in her 20’s

Maddie’s costume is the same from the homeless number group dance and Paige’s costume, Kendall used a couple episodes before while dancing for candy apples. Edit: also they didn’t let Paige go to the doctor the whole day. The producers made them stay until filming was done. Disgusting!

oh my goodness for season 3 you NEED to react to episode twelve in season 3, it’s called “The Apple Of Her Eye”, it’s got some juicy controversial stuff in it considering jill, it’s the famed Rosa Parks episode 🤭🙏

What's crazy is that the whole 'crown' fiasco could have very well been Abby's idea as it could have been production's. Because Abby just liked Maddie THAT much, she would pull crazy stuff like that all the time.

PAIGE CHAIR SOLO CONTEXT: in an earlier episode, paige had this solo and she got her costume the day of the competition. it was too big and kelly got upset that her kids always got their costumes day of and it never fits. they pulled the solo and then the first episode you watched today is her next attempt.

In my Heart was cursed. 1st time Maddie forgot, 2nd time it was pulled but they still called her name so Maddie was sat crying in the audience, 3rd time the music skipped (whether intentionally or not)

Honestly I could be reading into it too much but I was a really similar child to Kendall, whenever I was shouted at instant tears. I hated it and was always so embarrassed but I fully had 0 control over it. Also it's been spoken about before that she had alot worse anxiety than some of the other girls which is most definitely what these 'stomach aches' are. Abby never seems to realise that when you shout at these girls for crying, they are going to cry more.

You should react to an episode with Asia. I LOVE Asia she has so much fire in her dances. I think she was in some episodes in season 3

I don't want a giant box taking op space for the 7 days a year it's hot. Plus it's so wasteful in terms of energy. And even when I lived in Spain I was fine without it. It's such a weird type of cold that gives me head colds. It's totally fine other cultures are used to it and have it and like it but most mild climates don't need it when you grew up without it.

I recommend every episode with Patsy/Kya because all of them are full of drama
