    Those little red Stewmac vices are one of my favorite and most used tools in my shop. I use it for tasks it wasn't even designed for like holding parts and wire for soldering, as clamps, even as weights while gluing, on and on.

    Great work Dave. Those pickups should sound great. I have used 44AWG on my really high output pickups, and while it is even thinner, I found it pretty easy to wind with.

    Great video! I'm an alnico4 convert for some time, best of alnico 2&5 😉 also I use partial/controlled splits now, around 10k Ohms on humbuckers between split point and ground, it gives a more even volume between split and full humbucking, and less drastic difference in tone color FWIW

    how to use the compass? What is it supposed to show? Which side should the magnet be facing?

    You need to know the magnets polarity because you may want to change the direction based on the type of pickups made
