It is. According to behind the scenes videos, Ewan, Liam, and Hayden got so into the fights and even just practicing (which they did for HOURS each day) that they ended up paying someone on set to unbend them after practice and between scenes

Ewan’s still got it. He trained for Years. Some Practice never leaves you. The same with Ray Park. Ray is still on top. Would love for Ray and Ewan going at it again, just for a Show at Star Wars Celebration.

Fun fact: Ewan and Hayden were so fast in the duel in episode three, they had to slow down the footage and even then they were still fast

Spoon Dude they’re not similar, they’re actually exactly the same, same prop, they were even going to keep it blue but had to be changed to Green for ROTJ because of the sail barge scene.

On any other show this would have been cringey... Graham has such a way of making guests feel comfortable. You get the sense that he genuinely is enjoying this and isn't just doing it becuase it's the "obvious" thing to do. Graham is the KING of this format.

He actually was using the Youngling Slayer 9000. The one he said was Alec Guinness' was actually Anakin's saber. The green one was Luke's and the red one was Maul's.

But his real name is Obi Wan, and Ewan McGregor is playing him in the era before he used the alternate name Ben after the fall of the Jedi order post order 66, and his voluntary exile to Tatooine. It's just weird to call Obi Wan Ben when making a high ground reference. When talking about the clone wars era and before, you gotta use Obi Wan - just etiquette, you know lol.

Keep Smiling! Count Dooku and Obis fighting styles aren’t even the same. Not to be “that guy”, but Dooku’s style was Makashi and he was the master of it. Obis was Soresu form 3 and he mastered it to become the master of Defense. Makashi is a fully offensive form they are two ways of combat that very different. Sorry for being a nerd

Draltar Moonwolf If they were made to make your own duels you probably wouldn’t want the nosies. So you could add them in more accurately in an edit. That’s presumably why you’d want to spend so much on a prop, to make your own videos.

@@draltar Pro lightsabers that have the 'saber turning on and off effect' where the light slowly goes up or down, on hit sound effects and the general buzzing when moving around cost like with literal movement sensors..up to 700 Dollar and more. They're made of special material to be durable during stunt fights, while still looking and sounding amazing. A lot of work, material and technical know how goes into these. Wouldn't expect much from a 150 $ one :p

I can do this just from fencing training. Don't get me wrong, though, this isn't a diss on Mcgregor - it's a compliment. Even though I could do the exact same moves, I don't have Mcgregor's charisma or presence to make it look nearly as awesome as he does. It's really what makes him such a great actor, that he can preform even the simplest things with the jenesequa to make them amazing. If you gave any sufficiently skilled fencer a GFX team, they could make a badass lightsaber fight. But none of us could bring to life the presence and character of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Mad respect to the man. A reminder of why I'm just a fencer and he's an a-list actor.

@@MidoriMae I was legit about to say this. Only we were told that if they heard us say "Bang Bang" They'd have us pushing for hours. "Target sighted. Target Neutralized" But I wont lie...the urge to "bangbangbang" when the sergeant jumps out at you pretending to be a "Bad guy" is strong.

I like how he used a baseball as a test of his skills bcs obi wan uses form 3 and form 3 is all abt having no weak points and thus he should be rly good at deflecting stuff

Sad fact is... Ewan is wrong. Alec's lightsaber is exact same prop that's used by Mark Hamill in RotJ. Edit: No it's not. Hamill's one was made to resemble Alec's one. Still, it's not the hilt chosen by Ewan.

@@bomjur The green one is indeed Luke's but it's very similar to Obiwan's Ep4 lightsaber. Same general shape. I don't think they had any prequel Obiwan hilt toys back when that episode of the show was filmed.
