    Every time I think about "upgrading" my Following to a different bike I realize there really isn't anything else to upgrade to. The flip chip allows a ton of different options, and the bike works as well with a 120 fork as a 140 fork. You can run it as a pure XC bike like this vid, a proper DC bike with a 140 fork in x-low, or as a 27.5+ bike, or even as a mullet with a 130 fork in Low (which is how I run it, talk about insane cornering). Evil even sells anglesets if you want to play with the HTA. Just a very versatile bike.

    How wide could you go with a 27.5 tire? 2.8?

    @@derekparsons8956 2.8 for sure as I've had my Following set up as a 27.5+ with 2.8's on it no problem. You can also run 2.6 29ers on it too if you want a wider wagon wheel.

    This is one of the only reviews of this bike with Flight Attendant anywhere in the universe. Would be great to see Pivot let you demo the Mach4SL with FA…heck Yeti should as well.

    Wonderful review! I love your pacing, footage, etc. I personally had the evil following v3, GX build for the last 2 years. Here are my two cents: The bad (first): The climbing position could be a little bit better. Weight isn't the best (Spur and Spark give it body image issues). No lockout (honestly doesnt need it). I agree with your comments regarding the geo flip chip, too. It seems like everyone runs the same x-low setup; no real variability. Positives: insanely fun to ride, incredible suspension design (lockout genuinely not needed), good tire clearance, proper "do anything" bike. Good to maintain, too, as the suspension linkage needs a service only once every 3+ years or so. Can be gotten for 20-30% off right now (gx builds low 4k new). Best bike I've ever owned. 2 years, I ride hard, and 1 crash. So confident inspiring and I keep setting PRs the more I ride, so the bike is helping me grow ride by ride.

    I had a Following V3 withheld 130 fork.. i miss that bike every single day. I never should've sold it. I might just have to get another one as I've flipped through 5 fs bikes since, and it was the one. However, here in greater Boston and with the 130 fork, i couldn't imagine riding it in the extra low. It would be pedal strike galore and even more so with the 120 fork!

    Remember reviews of the Evil Chamois Hagar also suggesting the frame was just way too stiff. What wheels would you put on this to add some compliance? Maybe in the conclusion video you could mention what changes to the different builds you would make to address some of the individual bikes weaknesses.

  • @moandhannahtravel

    @moandhannahtravel

    Some wheels with berd spoked or maybe even some crankbro synthesis wheels that have a little more give! I9 alloy spokes are pretty stiff so normal ones or the berds would give a little give if that makes sense!

    Just built my evil following flight attendant last week with help from the rad team at Evil’s Landing in Bellingham. Climbs better than my 22 pound epic evo 7 and rides so much better on the downhill. No regrets even though I gained a few pounds
