He's a true legend its an honour to have him on the show! Cheers Owen
Really hope that Clik system will be dominant! I know I will try it and will gladly throw - very far away - the Presta core!
Where can i buy that Park Tool shirt Calvin wore?
The Stella Cruz is sweet! And slightly hoppy😅

Drop by the Ryder Innovation stand, well designed bike tools and accessories!
Another great video #gmbntech - Love the Clik valve system, just know it makes sense, but I would like to see an adaptor for the pump end (I am sure there is one) - and a CO2 inflator head?

No need for dedicated one - Schwalbe says you can use existing Presta pumps with it. They even have video of that on their channel. So it is a win-win standard.

Agreed - true legend of the industry! Cheers Owen
Whatever helps me get rid of Presta is welcome. And its Schwalbe, so I am guessing quality wont be an issue. Are fillmore valves similar though?
Love Stella artois
first comment also really want to go to eurobike how do you get tickets

I know it's arguably the least interesting thing in the video, but that mini bottle is going to be a game changer for me since I actually can't fit a normal sized bottle in my frame
6kg 😮
Calvin, the mustache of bike knowledge !
What a waste on that Santa Cruz V10, Stella beer is crap.
I think it's been long overdue with a completely new valve standard(that Clik system is just continuing with the presta system, but it could be an experiment perhaps to check if it would make sense to just launch and complete unit on their own...) given tubeless has been around for quite some time now, and the presta valve was never intended to be used with lots of sticky goo going in and out of it. 76Projects has had their spin on it and I think that is a good starting point. It is really noticeable the extra amount of air you can push through that valve compared to a standard presta valve, especially when you use a small handpump you normally would carry with you while out on a ride. I also like that you can easily take it apart and clean it easily, which is something that should be considered for whoever creates a new global standard. Personally I'd like to see something like the 76Projects version becoming an industry standard, so that parts and everything become a lot more easily available, so I can just find it at my local shop whenever just because it was the standard. Presta is trash in 2024, that's my 2 cents. It clogs up too easily, and with an already poor airflow, you quickly will struggle to get air in which can be very annoying out on the trail(I got the t-shirt...). We need a new and complete unit that is easily serviceable as well as allowing a lot more air in through each pumping sequence. It should be an open patent so that anyone can create their own iteration of it to make it even more accessible, just like presta is today.
1996 Mach 5 SX fork had the arch on the front...I had one...broke 3 shafts in it due to the serrated clip coming loose all time, Had it on my Titanium frame with full XTR900 groupset.
Can't wait for Schwalbe's aerothan inner tubes along with this new valve thingy. Currently running the SV extra light butyl tubes, the only part I don't like is the presta valve that always gets bend/damaged. Especially with a cheap mini pump and a friend who forgets the valves are kinda fragile...mini pump + presta = easy to fxck up
The more new tech I see, the more I love my hardtail. Side note. The best way to bleed sram brakes is to replace them with Shimano.
You mentioned several times how really light the Manitou forks were, but did not give us the weight...that is not good, imo. I didn't bother with the rest of the video.
That Darimo one-piece saddle/seatpost at 7:44 is bonkers. I love it.

Mudguards please... Fenders!!
I love the Work>>>Party switch on the Manitou shock
I don't think I've ever gone to 10 bars without blowing off. Impressive.
I would expect from a place like gmbn NOT to walk over something as relevant to both the industry and us, consumers, as the parktool spork. Hopefully you'll cover that on tomorrow's video. Shame on you gmbn.
Schrader valves won, why does the bike industry still cling onto Presta? Same reason that tubeless version of Presta is bigger than tubular Presta but smaller than Schrader. The more standards there are the more incompatibilities there are and more shit we have to buy… This is why the bike industry is so obsessed with changing and coming up with proprietary standards all the time…
Am I the only one that thinks Park Tools' Calvin Jones should have his own children's show on PBS?
Doddy was the only one who brought excitement to trade shows.
If mom jeans were a haircut?
With all the genius alternatives to Schraeder and Presta the cycling industry is releasing since the last 3 decades none really got much popular? Schraeder and Presta work perfectly fine! Stop trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist 😂

I would prefer a stella sponsorship over a redbull one, grown men drink beer, not sugar drinks. Though I'm more of a duvel and westmalle tipe of person.
