I like lapel pins even in casual jackets. They tell a little bit about you and what you like but its hard to find a good one that makes sense for you so most people end up wearing a random one

there are actually certain flower lapels for funerals dating back to Victorian times- such as orchids

Loving the advice guys! Would love to see a vid on how to mix and match all of these elements and not go overboard. Like how one pulls off the diff accessories together, if that makes sense. I.e. A Pocket Square, Tie Bar, Lapel Pin, ect. combo. Thanks Guys!

My coy requires we wear lapel pins, we have semi -casual Fridays, If I wear a jeans trouser and a checkered shirt, will it be okay to attach a lapel to my shirt, since I am not wearing my suit/jacket on this day

I wouldn't recommend it from a style perspective. But if you have to wear the pin I doubt it would look that out of place. I would just worry about the pin marks in the shirt being noticeable after. -G

Personally, I think it would depend on the pocket square. If the square is a plain color that doesn't call too much attention to itself i'd go with a flower. If the pocket square is loud and colorful I would go with a more understated pin. Decide which accessory you want to be the star and style accordingly around it. The reason we aren't wearing pocket squares is because we didn't want to pull attention from the lapel pins as that's what the video is about. Also, we are both wearing tie bars and didn't want to over accessorize the outfit. Best, -George

+ivan reyes In more expensive suit jackets there is a piece of thread on the inside of the collar to hold the stem of the flower... Also make sure the button hole is opened. See here: bit.ly/lapelAC -GL

You know whats funny, I just purchased the antique rose necktie from suited man.com for spring, and didnt think to get the matching lapel pin.

This was a great piece guys! I agree every guy should accessorize with a lapel pin or flower. I agree, wear them just below your breast pocket at the highest

l am so sorry guys but with black tie, men have always worn a flower on the lapels. Perhaps look at old movies and see. A gentelman would not go out without a flower on the tux. jacket,
