Love your videos as always! Small correction at 1:19, birds don’t have XX/XY sex chromosomes. They use ZZ/ZW, and females are actually the ones with the heteromorphic pair (ZW) instead of males.

Fun fact, this trait is what allows individual cuckoos of the same species to have very different-looking eggs. While cuckoos parasitize many other species of bird, female cuckoos will *always* lay their eggs in the same type of nest they were raised in. Because the trait for egg coloration is on the W chromosome, which is always given to them from their mom, it allows each “line” of mother-daughter cuckoos to have different colored eggs without mixing with the other cuckoos in their species. This is what has led to their egg mimicry being so effective on such a variety of other species. (If you’re interested in reading more about this topic, search “common cuckoo egg morphs”)

That's exactly my reason
Wait... don't birds have WZ sex chromosomes, not XY? As in, a male bird has ZZ and a female bird has WZ? They're thought to develop when a female ovum (egg cell) doesn't split properly, so instead of just containing a W chromosome, it also contains a Z, each one in a separate nucleus. So it's like having two ova cells in one. When it's fertilised, by the male Z-containing gametes, it results in one-half of the bird having the male pairings (ZZ) and the other containing the female pairing (WZ).

Words cannot describe how much I love this channel and the videos, I have autism, and these videos are like a sensory toy, I love the music and editing so much!
I love your content and the new format which is very family friendly TV ready, but I did really enjoy your "hey dudes" vibe you were using before, you have a very natural comfortable conversational buddy tone that was nice and felt very casual like a friend talking to me and was really funny, it'd be nice to have a few episodes of the old style still every now and again. 🙂
I knew bird's bones were different, but I didn't know they could hold air in them 😍
... I just got remembered why I subscribed xD These videos with everything feel like a kids show here in germany called "die Sendung mit der maus" it is a show that shows kids (and the grown ups too) how things work or how they are produced. And it's the same vibe. It's calm, doesn't make you seem like an idiot and tells you the correct terms for what happens or how the tools work and stuff. And now I have found the english equivalent for that, but with animals. I love it. The whole arrangement is calm and nice and you just enjoy learning.
Your meditation vibe in your videos is unique and really captivating. One little thing that breaks the flow for me is the "faux-raccord" when in the close up you point in the left page of the book and in the next cut your pointing in the opposite side of the book. It gets me out of the ambiance every time. Thanks for your really enjoyable videos!

Is it just me, or does it sound like he would have an amazing singing voice?
That singular paragraph in that book must be the Holy Grail of bird tidbits haha. Edit: I actually tagged that generic "Eagle" sound as a Red-Tailed Hawk when I was young. I'd always wondered why they'd use the same sound for eagles and whatnot in movies and cartoons. I lived in the PNW most of my life, so I knew what a Bald Eagle sounds like. I searched out different bird noises at the library (I spent most of my after-school days at the library, as I enjoyed reading). I love that the "truth" is coming out haha. It's interesting what mainstream media can change or twist factually.

As someone in New England we see hawks often, you hear them almost daily in the warmer months where I am. You’d know it if you saw an eagle. I’m mass you see both
Love your videos! I feel like a kid with some ASMR learning and relaxing at the same time! Keep it up ❤👍🏻
Humans can also sing two notes at once. Its a technique called polyphonic singing. Avi Kaplan, former member of pentatonix does this super well

Your videos are so relaxing. Relaxation + learning = relearning
listening to this guy talk makes me sleepy. plus the piano sounds makes it even more calming
Your videos excellently demonstrate that art can come in any form. My daughter and I love them so much, and rewatch them often. They feel like those rare favourite books that are beautiful, educational, and inspiring. But somehow transformed into video form, and thereby enriched even further.
Imagine if we had the respiratory system of birds! To us, it would be like having a double lung and breathing capacity. The syrinx on the other hand, would not only be like having two sets of vocal cords, but also voluntarily choosing one of each windpipe or both at once
I love nature its like a rare place for me!
Great video Mr. Roger!
i really love how slow you talk, its quite easy to listen to and quickly understand❤

i love animals, and science. i love them even more because of you. ah so relaxing 😌
I love the Mr. Rogers vibe so much!
Not sure if it is intentional, rather doubt it tbh, but you are like a perfect copy of Christoph from Sendung mit der Maus. The soft music cues, voice over with just gestures and facial expressions, calm, educational explanations that are set in a way as if you discovered them as you explain it. This is seriously well done
The blues clues vibe your video gives off is very relaxing and warm
I'm a grown adult and I feel as if I'm watching PBS. 😂 I love it. Miss the simpler days as a kid learning on PBS.
Marvelous, 10/10
This video is really beautiful
This is so calming
im in my bird obsession phase and i’ve researched and drew and learned basically everything about birds so me shouting the answers like “that’s not a bald eagle it’s a hawk!!!!!” was really fun thank you for this
Great content. I don't know if this style is aimed at children or adults, but I am completely enthralled. I don't know whether the relaxing style is going to help me sleep, or if I will stay up all night watching more of your videos. In either case, you've earned a new subscriber.
I love the loon's song! gave me the vibes of a forest flute call
