adding "furniture" didn't help. it's cute to us, but birds don't use furniture. in fact, loose objects in the nest can cause babies to get trapped underneath and die. she was removing the furniture, not as a "burglar", but because he basically put a bunch of dangerous trash in her potential nesting spot he definitely didn't need to paint it, they were showing interest and just needed time to adjust to the spot. nest boxes should only be treated with nontoxic, weather-resistant coating if necessary - buy decent wood and you shouldn't need to do that either. plain wood is fine, they don't care about the color. even if they did, plain wood is the same as the wood inside of a tree after all, where they'd naturally nest anyway

Nest scraping is a good sign a nest will be built. It is how they scent mark the box claiming it within their territory. The odd movements the female made is called the snake display. It is meant to scare competition or predators from entering the nest box. This is a perfect designed nest box for tits, you can make the entry way slightly smaller to keep larger species of birds from entering the box. The course fur, preferably deer hair, is used to weave the edges of the nest cup and to keep the moss packed down. The female will loosen the course hair as the chicks grow to make the nest cup deeper. She will keep working on the design after she has laid all the eggs and has started the incubation process. Also a fun fact since the female lays so many eggs, it requires more calcium than is in her entire skeleton to produce a full clutch of eggs.

Grasses are monocotyledon herbaceous plants. The grasses include the "grass" of the family Poaceae. This family is also called Gramineae. The family also include some of the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae).[1] These three families are not closely related but all of them belong to clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a common life-style. The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, sprouted grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatching thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses can grow very tall, such as Bamboo. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, including areas which are very arid or cold. There are several other plants that look similar to grass and are referred to as such, but are not members of the grass family. These plants include rushes, reeds, papyrus and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales. Grasses are an important food for many animals, such as deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows. This is a part of why the plants are successful. Without grass, soil may wash away into rivers (erosion)

It is good to include a small shelf on the inside of the “door” hole of bird houses, one that stretches about half of the floor space. That gives the young a place to hide if a predator attempts to reach in, and yes….crows are omnivores and will eat baby birds from other species. Also, don’t put a landing stick outside the opening to the house…..the birds don’t need it and almost never use it, but predators can use it as a place to hold on while raiding the nest.

Hello - is the camera brand listed somewhere? It’s a nice quality picture. watching the squirrel, until a raccoon ousted the squirrel.
Birdybirdybirdybirdy eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was a huge mountain crow😢
the predator bird is almost certainly a eurasian magpie😄

It's very likely a magpie or raven both steal eggs from smaller birds as a source of food
You Done Good Job. I Like that
We had the same kind of bird in our garden they are beautiful
Hmmmm, it looked very much like a Raven from the neck shape
I love it and birthday is a good time is for everyone to come home to celebrate with us
Do the bird's come back to the same place after flying
This bird enjoyed its own house😄
It was cool and seeing the chicks ha☺tching
Well and happy for the birds
“There seems to be a little chick inside” SEEMS? WHAT ELSE WOULD IT BE?-
You are a very good human being
I had a bird nest too and they were thriving but When the chicks got fur the mom and dad never came back probably because a cat or other predator got them both so the chicks died too sadly😢
Ang ganda naman nang iyong bahay
Aahhaa! What a loving and caring nature. ❤❤ God bless them. 👍🏼🙏🏻🙏🏻
Why did I think the bird in the thumbnail was a Ghastly from Pokémon
Beautiful video! But Why is the camera showing the reverse view? When you show your installation the nest hole is on the right but camera view shows it on the left
The chicks are so cute 7:02
I like your birdhouse and I love birds I want to have a bird I do want to have a bird okay
Chicks:zzzzzzzzzz Mama bird: *goes 20 miles near the nest* Also chicks: GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
New sub :D
Had a wren nest in a box laid eggs came back a week later the eggs gone no signs of what had eaten the egss till found a snake skin in the nest guess they felt safe there cause just 2 weeks before another pair of wrens had nested in the same box and all but one baby flew off think one of the siblings had killed it and ik the wrens didn't use that nest as i myself got rid of it or i wouldn't have believed that that was a new nest 😢😢 week later after noticing it is when the snake got into it wasn't a big snake as the nest showed no signs of intruder it literally looked they vacated the nest
What camera set up did you use?

SORRY I JUST TYPED BEST I WAS TRYING TO SAY NEST
I expected he was going to force the birds to smoke a hundred cigarettes, this was so wholesome instead though
These kind of video is so Interesing to me. 🎉🎉
The way u say 'tit' n 'tits'😂
Looking at the thumbnail, I thought the bird was in a Venom suit for a moment there.
Great video ❤❤
I have Bluejays attacking my Tit Mouse birdhouse. So far unsuccessfully. 🤞🏼
❤
❤❤❤❤❤
So beautiful
Its a crow😮
Probably a bluejay
If bluey has taught me anything it was definitely a magpie that tried to sneak in.
Why did those first birds rob the place?
i think you should not have put anything in the house. Esp painting it. that would have a smell. But cardboard objects -- why? it looks unsafe. putting in sawdust? i dont get it - you created an environment that looked occupied and would come across unsafe. but the once they were in -= great footage!!.
