Been watching this stuff since UFC 1... I never liked him, but to me, Wanderlei Silva was always the most dangerous man to step into the ring. Say what you want, but this man could always beat anyone.

Not sure you watched the highlight, there are a number of things I could point out. Firstly, he started in Brazil in Vale Tudo (No Rules.) Number #2 he fought in Pride FC and has some of the most vicious knockouts ever over Rampage Jackson in their second fight. You only have to watch the Brian Stann fight to see that this man, when he got in the ring/cage, was committed to pure violence in there.

What I like most about Wandi is that he was willing to risk getting knocked out to knock you out. True spirit of a warrior. You see so many times fighters are content with holding on and losing my decision. You never saw Silva holding on waiting for the bell. He fought with everything and win or lose he left it all out there every time he fought. True legend, spirit of the samurai.

Wanderlei, Belfort, Crocop and Fedor were all incredibly special in their peak form. Another fight i love that i followed from his start is Michael Bisping. I want to say he started around 225 and predominantly relied upon ground n pound. However over the years as he stepped down in weight class he developed a really technical boxing game. I enjoyed his fighting style at 205/185. He was never a genetic freak he was a blue collar fighter. Got there with a solid work ethic.
