he had weapons, so many weapons at Oklahoma and was horrific. He has skills but cannot process plays and doesn't go through progressions well. Reading defenses will be his issue, as it always has been. I see talent just like Zach Wilson has talent but if you cannot read defenses, then thats a huge problem.

QB1 didn’t help matters. Still, his first season as a starter was insane. Then it went downhill. Until he got to SC. He’s physically talented. He just needed for his maturity to catch up with that. I’m not saying he’s going to be a star at the next level. But he’ll be better than expected.

Rattlers clears.... it's crazy but understandable how his stock dropped so much from his early days immaturity which we ALL went through. And getting benches and transferred... Dud is still legit. Accuracy, arm talent, decision making and running a pro style offense. He's a better " SAFE" Pick than JJ McCarthy Higher Ceiling and floor.... He matured and is still young.

@@e2rqey always is manufactured from other teams to the Media ears and out of their mouths. Every year there is somehow a generational talent. There are 40 generational talents in 1 generation somehow. In addition people looked at these QB's a year ago and said they would make a hard pass. Now all of a sudden their top 3 off the draft board? Doesn't make sense. People don't think for themselves anymore or do evaluations they go with what everyone else is going with and that's why all these teams are stuck where they are. Who cares if you get clowned for your picks. If you make the playoffs then Superbowl then that's all that matters.

You know what's hilarious in the comments about Micheal Penix. He went undefeated during the season. Put that team on his back all the way to the championship. Lost against Michigan and now people say he aint that good. I tell you something else l noticed. They placed him in the second category of quaterbacks. They weren't promoting him as being a premier option at the position.

In comparison, Penix played just 25 of 51 games during that time and suffered a season-ending injury in each of those four campaigns. 2018 Torn right ACL 2019 Dislocated right SC joint (non-throwing shoulder) 2020 Torn right ACL 2021 Separated left AC joint (throwing shoulder)

There’s plenty of Qbs in the draft the 1st round is gonna be interesting

When Penix goes and preforms like he did at Washington for 2 years with no injuries, missing no games, you will NEVER hear a word from this nay sayers. You never do. They are so smart, until they aren't. I Remember Randy Johnson and the Mariners. Management didn't want to resign him because of a previous injury. He left and went to in obscurity in Arizona, @2 more Cy Youngs and a World Series and HOF Beatles rejected by several record companies, inventor of the Xerox Copier literally tossed out the door. Someone is going to get Penix and reap the rewards.

Rattler has a natural throwing motion. Way better accuracy way more consistent. Doesn't look like if he gets hit one time he'll snap in half like pennix

I’m a patriots fan so I’m sure we’re getting one of the top three guys but this could be one of the best QB drafts ever ever. A lot of the other teams after the patriots who need a quarterback might end up with a pretty good one.

@@usopenitentiary Penix' looked great. It's not always on the QB these receivers are nervous and sometimes running bad routes as well. That's why the combine is stupid though just watch the film. These guys don't even do the combine with pads on which as a football player I always thought was stupid

But he's got a small comfort zone and his accuracy goes to hell the moment he's off-balance or rushed. I don't think he'll make it as a starter in the NFL. @@usopenitentiaryAgreed. Rattler did OK on the short-range stuff (notice the receiver didn't have to break stride at all), but his long ball - beyond being not very accurate - is a mess over the last 5-10 yards of travel. No bueno.

I think both of these guys will do well in the league. I like Rattler slightly better, but only because he played behind a line that couldn't block against SEC fronts week in and week out. The kid was pressured on every play, took shots from DLs every series, and still put up numbers. He learned to be tough and what it will be like at the next level.

Rattler still has a little piss and vinegar in him and didn't get enough air under those deep balls. Penix is sooo smooth and mature man I love the way that guy plays. I think Penix will be the best in this class and I think Rattler will be an absolute dog I've loved his potential since day 1 when he got beat out by Caleb. I think Caleb will be good but no QB in this class is good enough to turn a bad team good. The only QB to ever do that is Lamar who's team wins 30% of their games without him and 75% with him. Even the Chiefs and Patty Mahomes can not say they're that bad without him. I got Penix as the most NFL ready though, hopefully he goes to the seahawks

If you're going to look at arm talent, it's pretty clear that Penix Jr's is on a whole other level than Rattler's.

Everything said about Penix is the same thing they said about Bryce Young. In college, Young had a great O'line and lots of weapons, but when he got to the NFL and had to adjust , he couldn't. Same will go for Penix. At least, Young can scramble.

Penix Jr has a stronger arm than Young (and by a lot). But Penix Jr's accuracy goes off a cliff if you pressure him or force him to throw on the run.

Wouldnt mind if the Steelers draft Rattler in the 4th.

Why would this simple throwing drill tell you any of those things you mentioned? This is simply a venue for scouts to see a guy live. To hear the ball zip and see his motion and release live. To see how he handles the opportunity to be around the NFL hype, etc.... Why are you expecting anything else?
