Islam is not only skilled on the ground and wrestling, but he also fights very well standing up. He kicks very well and his hooks have knockout power
Rarely do you see someone with THIS COMPLETELY of a game. Obviously most elite guys have well rounded skills, but Islam seems to be ahead of all his opponents regardless of where he takes the fight.

I believe Islam Makhachev has the potential to be the greatest fighter ever. None of the lightweights, nor Alexander Volkanovski have a skill set that can stop his grappling or hit him clean.

@@ferdblu1946 Volk and Beneil are his biggest challenges, dont think Oliveira has the skillset to beat Islam. Fiziev has power but Islam is one of lowest hit fighters (his one loss was very early in his UFC career and he has improved leaps in defense/striking since then), Tsarukyan he already beat and is a little small for a LW, and I don't see Tsarukyan beating Islam in a rematch. Khamzat is now a 185er.
Unbelievable strength, endurance and athleticism. Islam is just incredible.
Props to these warriors who were not ducking Islam. I can understand it tho as they all saw how dominant Khabib was.

in round 1 too, they planned this so that volk fans don't come with the excuse of him taking the fight on short notice. If anything more, they would blame it on his gas tank and that is 100% understandable.

Charles Olivera was supposed to be Islam's kryptonite. I mean, are people still underestimating this guy? Obvious favorite over Volkanovski. Volk's only hope is by somehow surviving 5 rounds to win by points on strikes, or by catching Islam with a surprise knock-out punch/kick. Just like how Usman lost to Leon, a lucky strike. And i don't mean any disrespect to Volk, Islam is just looking better.

there are no lucky strikes at championship-level fights. leon set up the head kick behind the 1-2 combo that he knew made usman duck to the right.

Hmmmm he had doba in an arm bar and couldn't finish it, I thought he was the best grappler? How rated is dobers wrestling? If dober can avoid submission for 3 rounds, I feel Volk could also, considering his Ortega battle. And if it's a 50/50 of Volk winning the stand up and Islam the ground and pound, anything could happen with the decision.
