I'm really liking how the year's going so far. Every major has been won by different people and characters, characters like Puff and Banjo in top 8 here and notably rare chatacters like Mii Brawler and Mega Man making appearances as well. It's shaping up to be a good year

And it seems like the streak of every major being won by different people will continue, because the next major, Game is Game seems to not have a single previous major winner of 2024 in attendance. Good luck for preventing Acola, Sparg0, Miya, Zomba and Hurt from winning Kagaribi 12 after that though.

Are you forgetting Japan? I'm pretty sure their majors are same old, as usual, just Miya and Acola who win every major. It's very samey and repetitive. I miss the days when Japanese majors had a new winner like each month. Those times when it wasn't just Steve and G&W.

@@l.n.3372 Well... there was only 2 majors in Japan so far, surprisingly enough. One being won by Acola, and one being won by Miya. So on one hand, yeah, Miya and Acola are still winning every Japanese majors, but there were also only two Japanese majors, and they haven't won majors outside of Japan.

@@Eclipsmon8421 Yeah but let's face it, in the last year and a half, they've probably won a combined 90% of Japanese tournaments. It's amazing how "stale" the Japanese scene has gotten, in that sense. I remember when Japan could have 4 tournaments in a row and 4 different winners each time. Gone are those days.

I really liked the variety of characters in BOBC 6. Sure, there were your familiar Steve out there, unfortunately, but none in top 8. No Sonic, Aegis, or G&W either, for those who dislike watching them. I'm sure that Min Min and Snake aren't everybody's cup of tea, but the aggressive style used by their players was a welcome change for those characters. And Jigglypuff and Banjo in top 8!

My God, this comment just proves Smash fans are impossible to please. For the first NA tournament in forever, we had a top 8 with no Steve, Sonic, G&W, or Aegis. Yet some people will always find a character to whine about (Yoshi). You people are impossible to make happy lol

I kept on hearing how Toriguri "destroyed" MkLeo, but when I watched the set I wasn't as impressed. Sure, Toriguri won solidly, but it was certainly no Riddles vs Doramigi. It was clear that MkLeo was completely unfamiliar with the matchup, but he otherwise played fairly well and even made the matchup appear favorable for Joker. Next time we see these two play, I expect Leo to exploit Banjo's recovery much more and to fall for fewer tricks and gimmicks.

The matchup is favorable for Joker. Also Toriguri is well known to be bad against Joker players. Also Toriguri definitely destroyed Leo and played incredibly well even if he didn’t need to adapt much because Leo wasn’t adapting to him
