    The moral of the story as I see it: during the Cold War, murderous dictators were perfectly fine as long as they left us alone, but if you are even peripherally a potential threat to our oil, businesses, or capitalist ideals of "the haves and the not acknowledged," then you have to go and we'll replace you with the guy who wants your job the most.

  • @thelegendarypandicorn1777

    @thelegendarypandicorn1777

    No, during the Cold War, governments were pawns in a larger game as the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. battled vigorously over the world stage. Both sides made murderous dictators, it's just that, since we won and almost all of the non-U.S. backed ones got killed by us or their own people, the only ones left to talk about are our mistakes.

Many inocent people was tortured and assasinated just for their beliefs, lots of books were burned and lots of music was forbidden. Teachers, writters, union leaders, musicians were killed and tortured by the police and the army. No one with a grain of empathy can support this actions, and ir you do, you just make me sick!

    Finally seeing this video. Better late than never, right? Interesting event that happened lo these many years ago. I was at work, cranking out some C code, when my boss, who had ties to the military, called me into his office and closed the door. Sitting in the other chair was an older guy with really bad dandruff. He started talking up the CIA and showed me a few spy tech gadgets. I allowed as to how they were pretty cool. Nobody came right out and said anything, but it occurred to me that I was possibly being recruited. After the meeting was over, I shook the guy's hand and thanked him for the show-and-tell. Again, nobody said anything, but I was left with the impression that I should talk to my boss later if I was interested. Since the CIA didn't have exactly a stellar reputation in my mind, I never said a word and neither did anyone else. To this day, 30 years later, I'm still not certain just what was going on.

Especially with what's going on right now in UKR, a lot are refraining from mentioning it due to the fear of being blacklisted as a "Russian Bot" among other things.

The only reason many if not all the points on this video are known to the "world" is because the documents containing said classified information were released by law or flat out pointed out as true by former CIA agents decades later after the event. I don't need to prove or show evidence the CIA had a hand on taking out Chavez or any other "Enemy of the empire" either by Killing or Destabilizing the country's economic, it's track record speaks for itself.

    While the 1965-66 mass murders in Indonesia may not have featured official CIA involvement, I feel they ought not to have been overlooked due to their utter gruesome nature and obvious involvement of at least The US State Department due to the admissions of Robert J. Martens.
