I liked it more when I was a kid, though. I think the first Shrek is a bit better. There's just so many other way better films like Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Megamind, Wreck it Ralph, Coco, Toy Story 1-3, How to Train Your Dragon 1+2. Even Frozen is a stronger movie in my opinion haha

Good choice! I love Shrek 2. I think that it's a very funny movie that has a surprising amount of thrills and it takes a fresh and rewarding approach to advancing Shrek and Fiona's relationship. It wasn't checking any boxes in order to make up a story, and to just call a day. It was very unique.

Madagascar’s sequels while not the best are pretty good in my opinion. While for the Shrek sequels, just treat Shrek 3 as non cannon.

My favorite Dreamworks movies are Prince of Egypt, Kung Fu Panda series, How to Train Your Dragon series and Rise of the Guardians. All of those are my childhood right there!

The problem was it was coming out in that series of movies where everyone is making an extremely similar movie at the same time i.e. Bug's Life / Antz, Shark Tale / Finding Nemo, Madagascar / The Wild. Its twin, Despicable Me, won out, obviously. I think it's a shame b/c I think both are great movies, but b/c of DM's success, it effectively sunk Megamind's franchise potential and drew the focus onto the stupidest part of the movie which shall not be named here...which are tolerable and even funny in small doses, but unbearable in large amounts, not to mention feature-length films.

I'm that way with Ice Age movies. I can't find anyone who likes them, but they keep making sequel after sequel. The only one I saw was the original, and it was not awful, but I never want to see it again.

The only Ice Age sequel I liked was the one with the mad ferret and the dinosaurs ( I think it was the third?). That one was good. The others were garbage.

Gosh, I love El Dorado. The dynamic between the main characters is just wonderful. Sure, the plot isn't that groundbreaking, but oh my goodness is the movie enjoyable even after watching it several times.

Yeah, Kung Fu panda does not deserve to be as fantastic as it is The voice acting, the fight scenes, anything with Tai Lung, the soundtrack, the animation (oooooh the animation. Like, that scene in Kung Fu panda 2 where Po just got launched into the water is just so good. His wet fur is just so detailed it’s wild. I haven’t watched this movie in minimum 2 years but that scene still sticks out to me) All just superb.

Unless you go to IGN because they get the same ad for days or weeks at a time. IGN and there ads made sure I will never buy "The SHOW" the baseball game or the newest Uncharted game, but I don't have a Playstation anyway.

Kung Fu Panda 2 I feel is better the the first; the animation is more beautiful, the characters have more emotional depth, and the villain just steals the show with his intimidating presence that perfectly contrast the film light hatred tone, it's like if you dropped judge frollo or Prince Joffrey in frozen or zootopia.

Dreamworks is willing to take risks more than Disney, which tends to follow a similar plot for most movies. Taking more risks and trying more things tends to mean that some things don't land, but I'd rather studios have massive hits and misses than staying in their comfort zone because they know people will automatically like it.
