I just realized when this came in my recommended today that I've seen this before, many years ago when it came out. I don't know when or why, but I feel like it was in school? Maybe? I wouldn't be surprised. I just know that I was young and didn't realize there was anything about this film that made it different from others. I watched it, thought it was cute, then of course forgot about it until now. But at that age when I first watched it, the fact that it was a clear love story between two young boys didn't feel wrong. I'm grateful for that, and my school that probably showed this.

This animation was my first representation of being queer in a time when homosexuality was still illegal from where i reside. It was last year that the law finally legalised homosexuality and that allowed me to be expressive of myself. Crazy how time flies now that I'm in college, no longer being in the closet
