EVERTUNE - IS THE HYPE REAL?

Музыка

A bud in South Africa lent me their Solar S1.6 PB27 Baritone with an Evertune. And I got to try it out and see what all the Hype is all about.

Nice explanation. The Evertune can seem complicated, but once you wrap your head around it it's a great tool and super convenient.

It's pretty crazy to think Evertune is from 2019, yet it's only recently it started got so popular, now you're starting to see it more and more in other brand too

@@GaryHiebner As tempted as I am to set it up for a bruuutal Drop E, I think I might stick it in a Drop A with nice light strings for a super articulate thing. At least, that's how I'm initially setting it up.. knowing me it'll be in Drop E after a month

I am getting an ESP LTD EC1000TCTM EverTune and I want it setup so I can't bend. I can bend the hell out of stings, but this guitar is for recording. If I take a break from a song and come back to it a week later I don't have to worry if the guitar is in tune. The tuning is good to track. Live I can loosen the EverTune up for bending.

Because of the tuning stability, the evertune bridge also allows you to tune way lower with thinner strings. That's a huge positive to me

Exactly. Good point. So yeah if you wanna go really low you can use lighter strings and the guitar can still sound nice and bright with low tunings. When you go super thick on the strings then can tend to sound darker

My main issue with Evertune bridges is that, to my understanding, you're pretty much stuck with the tuning you have it initially set up for and I just change the tuning on my guitars way too often for that to work out

It is partially true that you are stuck with one tuning. But it depends what you mean by change the tuning too often. If the change for instance is just go from standard to drop, that only involves one string and you can do it while you still can enjoy the benefits of the Evertune for all the string sin the dropped version and for 5 of the 6 strings for the standard tuning. If you have a couple of real different tunings just have 2 guitars and switch them. If you do gigs you would already be using less backup guitars because you really only need one guitar for each tuning, as it will not go out of tune and you can use just one for the entire set. Since I have my guitar with the Evertune I only used that guitar. I don´t really enjoy new strings for the sound, but for the tuning stability that newer strings give you once they are stretched. In this guitar I still have the same set of strings I installed several months ago and just by doing small adjustments every month or every couple of weeks they still hold tune perfectly well.

Yeah that is tricky if you wanna use many different tunings. If its just a drop tuning to standard tuning then its ok.

Some people won't pay 200 for good pickups to improve or shape tone, but will sell half of the contents of their own scrotums to afford a product that is designed to circumvent a process that can be completed in less than 20 seconds. Hmm.

I do both. I buy pickups and sell half the contents of my scrotum! Hahahaha. What a comment :) Made me laugh. Thanks man.
