They even have a little "ritual" after she blasts the last note of Ghost Love Score (seen in recent shows). Hrs a gentleman and a world class guitarist!

Marko Hietala is a star in his own right. Since the 80s he's been the singer - and bassist, of course - of his own band, Tarot, one of the most legendary Finnish heavy metal bands. So he's obviously used to both singing and being a frontman, which explains his commanding stage presence.

Keep up the Nightwish reactions, and I for one, as a new subscriber, will enjoy watching your journey of discovery. As much as I selfishly want you to react to my personal favourites immediately, I won't ask for any particular song .... at the end of the day, you can't go wrong following Gabriel's advice. We shouldn't forget that all these amazing Nightwish songs and performances wouldn't exist without the man behind the keyboards, the band leader and founder Tuomas Holopainen. He is the Metal-Mozart who has composed and written almost all of the Nightwish songs, but often prefers to stay a bit in the background compared to the others. And of course you can't run and jump around the stage as a keyboardist, but he really is a very down-to-earth and modest person who gladly allows the other band members to shine on stage.

Nightwish, a symphonic metal band from Finland, has earned a prominent place in the world of heavy music through their masterful blend of metal, classical, and orchestral elements. Founded in 1996 by keyboardist and primary composer Tuomas Holopainen, the band has undergone several lineup changes but consistently delivered high-quality music that resonates deeply with fans worldwide. A distinctive feature of Nightwish's discography is their penchant for lengthy, epic compositions that often serve as the climax of their albums. These tracks not only showcase the band's technical prowess but also their ability to craft intricate, multi-layered musical narratives. One of the most notable long tracks in their repertoire is "The Poet and the Pendulum" from the album Dark Passion Play (2007). Clocking in at nearly 14 minutes, this song is a tour de force of symphonic metal. It unfolds in five distinct parts, each with its own mood and style, ranging from hauntingly melancholic to fiercely aggressive. The song's orchestration, dynamic shifts, and Anette Olzon's powerful vocals make it a standout piece that encapsulates the essence of Nightwish's sound. Another epic is "Ghost Love Score" from the album Once (2004). At just over 10 minutes, this song is a fan favorite and a staple of Nightwish's live performances. Its grandiose orchestral arrangements, combined with Tarja Turunen's operatic vocals, create a dramatic and emotive experience. The climactic ending, often referred to as the "goosebump moment," is a testament to the band's ability to evoke profound emotions through music. "The Greatest Show on Earth" from Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015) is arguably Nightwish's most ambitious work to date. This nearly 24-minute epic is divided into several movements, exploring themes of evolution and the grandeur of life on Earth. Featuring narration by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, the song seamlessly integrates spoken word sections with bombastic symphonic metal passages, creating an awe-inspiring auditory journey. The track's scope and complexity highlight the band's intellectual curiosity and their desire to tackle grand philosophical themes through their music. These lengthy compositions demonstrate Nightwish's commitment to pushing the boundaries of the symphonic metal genre. They are not mere songs but immersive experiences that transport listeners through time and space, often leaving a lasting impression. Whether through the sheer power of their music, the complexity of their arrangements, or the depth of their lyrical themes, Nightwish's long tracks exemplify the band's artistic vision and their ability to create music that is both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant. Personally, I have been a fan of the band for about 10 years and attend many concerts of various bands in the symphonic metal genre. Having had the opportunity to meet some musicians in person, I enjoy going to smaller concerts as well. I also recommend checking out Metalwings from Bulgaria or Imperial Age, originally from Russia. The latter had to flee their home country and now live in England, currently touring Europe. In summary, Nightwish's longest songs are more than just extended tracks; they are epic sagas that showcase the band's musical ingenuity and narrative depth. These compositions are integral to understanding Nightwish's impact on the symphonic metal genre and their enduring appeal among fans worldwide.

I've been a fan for about 6 to 7 years now I guess. I always come back Everdream if I had to pick a favorite. Marko brings it with his bass to start then he kills it with his vocals (you ain't seen nothin' yet when it come to Marko's vocals) then Floor does what Floor does - nobody has come up with a grouping of words to describe what Floor does. She uses her hair as a weapon. Jukka's double kicks on his bass drums are just insane. FYI, Jukka had to retire from the drum kit because of sever insomnia. Jukka suggested and the band agreed Kai Hahto should become the drummer. Kai isn't a flamboyant as Jukka but he's every bit as good a drummer. He throws in tricks and subtleties you really have to listen for but when you hear one it brings a huge smile. The guy is a human metronome.

Thanks for sharing your genuine reaction to a song about longing for a connection with a person one loves. It speaks of the desire for a companion and the risks of taking chances to find them, despite the possibility of failure. The lyrics emphasize that even if one fails in his/her search, s/he can still find solace in dreaming of the object of affection. The chorus states the longing to find the love of ones life, both with and without the presence of the other party. Ultimately, the song is about never giving up on the hope of finding true love. P.S. I'd say Peper only wanted to watch this live performance with you.

There are even a few songs where Marko takes the lead. He was lead vocalist in his own metal band that he and his brother created back in 1982 called Tarot. Minor details: Tuomas's keyboard stand (and wine rack) on this tour is somewhat reminiscent of the Sibelius Monument in Helsinki. Emppu drinks Corona Extra on tour because it's consistent and is available everywhere. At home he favours the Finnish beer Kolhu. (When I visited Helsinki in 2017 I tried many beers (being a Brit), and Kolhu became my default.)

Enjoyed your reaction. I think folks were quoting Floor at the beginning of this song much like they did with saying It's time for a story for Storytime. That or either folks were punking you because it does start off softer but hen goes pretty hard. That piano intro is pretty iconic and Nightwish fans know the song after just a few notes, much like Nemo. This is one of the song's where I like Floor and Tarja's performance equally. If only for yourself you should checkout Tarja's performance from the End of an Era concert. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hpyAqMFqY6TacrA.htmlsi=477KYKFynHe35lCl. If you want to hear Marko sing really high checkout him singing the part of the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera from the same End of an Era concert. Great duet with Tarja where in my opinion he steals the show with his amazing singing. kzread.info/dash/bejne/poBml9SbntmzZNI.htmlsi=9kpNP-wc3BDCYO2O

Kitties are "aging" your chair a little, especially on top - easy fix. There are seat covers for every chair imaginable (including gaming chairs). There's also waterproof covers. Very handy for people with kitties who sometimes throw up a hairball in your seat. Wash the seat cover and everything is new. There's also covers for earphones so you can wash them - great for your skin to minimize build up of dead skin and oil. Not saying anything is wrong. Just saying that after 50+ years of cats (starting as a child) I have seen so many easy and helpful items that make reusable items last a lot longer. My comfy recliner looks brand new with it's cover. Had it for decades. Ever Dream is my favorite song. Glad you liked it!

I was forget to write that you don’t must to want to understand it after the first part of the song, at the end you should understand it all. I think the song comes from the vehicle of spirit at Wembley 2015. And I want to say it again, it’s SO BEAUTIFUL. The whole 21 minutes i had goosebumps. ❤😢

You should look at their song/show The Greatest show on earth, it's about the birth of the earth, its evolution and goes in several chapters. It's amazing..... NIGHTWISH - The Greatest Show on Earth (with Richard Dawkins) (OFFICIAL LIVE) It's based on The book 👇👇👇 The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution is a 2009 book by British biologist Richard Dawkins, which was released on 3 September 2009 in the UK and on 22 September 2009 in the US. It sets out the evidence for biological evolution, and is Dawkins's 10th book, following his best-selling critique of religion The God Delusion (2006) and The Ancestor's Tale (2004), which traces human ancestry back to the dawn of life.

Hi Guys, I am a big Nightwish army member. You should put the Danish band "Within Temptation" on the reaction list. Somewhat similar to Nightwish and has sold more albums. Try the songs "Faster" or "The Reckoning". Explain the bands to "The Hu" songs "Wolf Totem" or "Black Thunder". Good luck.

Your cats are drawn to Floor's voice, it's only natural. I would suggest that Floor hair flick could be called the HCA - Hair Conditioner Advert - after those adverts when women would flick their beautifully conditioned hair in slow motion. The 'Windmill' is Floor's signature hair manoeuvre, expertly developed over the past 20 years or so. Please allow the cats to interact - I want more cats!

Marko (Hietala), the bass player, is one of the best male rock singers in Europe, I might say. But since 2020 He is no longer with the band. He and Floor are a perfekt duo one Stage.
