I wonder why I’m not seeing the girevoy sport (kettlebell sport) style front rack position used by the competitors in this event. I would think that would be the most optimal and efficient strategy for the clean and jerks here

@@lawrencebaker1811 Push Pressing those kettlebells actually allows for more stabilization and control rather than the jerk because of the way the kettlebells are shaped and the imbalance of the weights at the top of the lockout.

The KB jerks made me laugh. When is CF gonna learn not to showcase weirdo events in the Games? Handstand events are in the same boat. Time to ditch gymnastics as it’s not translating to becoming a mainstream sport. Or, stay weird and remain a marginalized.

They are not showcasing, they are testing the athletes. KB clean and jerks are a common and very demanding movement within the fitness world, not just CrossFit. And the ability to demonstrate solid upper body stability and strength like in gymnastics are a critical part of having overall complete fitness. I don't understand your gripe.
Why aren’t they showing the Russian flag? Ridiculous
