They could have at least had chip timers on the athletes' bikes and a timing strip they rode over on each lap, so they automatically got splits. Like they have at any $20 5k race you sign up for. I get that you wouldn't want the timing chip on your shoe for events like t2b but it could just be on the bike. Weird

I’ve watched this several times and there’s no way Garard won. Koski was in the lead the whole time and Garard was never in camera shot. When Koski got off the bike, he let people he lapped go ahead but no one else was in sight as he turned back several times. People claim there’s video evidence but it hasn’t been posted. Also, to give Spencer 5th, and Lazar 10th while failing to meet the standard and not completing the work is slap to all athletes. Where’s the penalty? Or perhaps the crossfit games is more like WWE where it’s for entertainment (not real) and the drama is all generated purposely… this is the most likely the explanation. 🤔

  • @terminatorxtreme

making a 2 minutes laps after doing 9 laps at 3minutes laps in bike world is not really a thing, not that it's impossible but it's not ''how'' you race....and we was not pushing at 25mph even just for a mile, on that surface, I doubt it if your sport is not road bike. For answering to the 13min/5miles question, I have serious doubt on the distance but every race is not that precise so if the lap is off, it's maybe a 4miles loop, just less sexy to call it that way.

It's not a road bike. If they don't know about the activity professionally then they shouldn't be talking about the event. As a cyclist I'm not even sure if they should be putting cycling in events like these, it's asking for really bad wrecks and they can't get people good enough bikes/riders for it to not look like/be a clown show. Stick to activities that require very minimal equipment. Cycling is very equipment heavy and experience/skill specific. There's nothing exciting about watching people who are not professional/competitive cyclists race bicycles.. it's just cringe.
