Because they were. Because heavyweights just keep getting bigger over the years. At a certain point 180lbs was considered heavyweight, now youll be laughed at if youre under 220

In the early '90s I used to see Michael Doug's often walking with his woman. Michael dokes would be wearing it full-length fur coat and a hat with the cigar in his mouth shredding through the casino into the lounge and then the lounge performer cookie jar would announce that Michael dokes. Michael dokes would sign autographs and waved everybody. He was a people's champ. Rest in peace Michael Doug.

This was already a declining old Dokes still had the hand speed match Holyfield but lost his legs which made Dokes to stationary and not moving around more like where he was younger

That was a terrible strategy by Dokes, When you get caught by a lucky shot, you don't just go into haymaker mode. He should have survived the round and regrouped. Hadn't Dokes been fighting for over 10 years at this point? He should have known better. It's funny though. If any other of the champs from the 80s to early 2000s eras struggled with or let a guy well into his career hang with them, they wouldn't get the same love. No one else would be considered a "warrior." They would be criticized,

Holyfield diving in with headbutts again, just a few seconds before the end he came storming in with his head to finish Dokes off. Shit, he was a dirty fighter long before he clashed with Tyson in 1996, but no one seemed to pick this up early on in his career.

Plus, after Holyfield whupped Tyson's ass the FIRST time, Tyson was asked about the headbutts and he responded that he was guilty of headbutts just as much as the Real Deal was. Tyson fanboys really like to make up their own "facts" when it comes to their hero being punked by Buster Douglas (In Mike's prime) by Real Deal Holyfield (twice), and put soundly to sleep by Lennox Lewis. I won't even mention two of the greatest fighters in boxing history...Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Ha ha!
