I used to like boxing but since we have MMA, boxing(with its constant referee breaks and soft gloves) looks stupid to me. I did Karate for over 10 years myself. Karate now also looks just as stupid as boxing to me. I never had high regards for wrestling. Man I was wrong. I changed my thinking about everything since MMA. The combination of boxing, kick-boxing and wrestling is the most effective martial art as MMA has proven.

The gloves are not soft champ....not at all.....theres a sports science show rhat tested 4oz gloves(mma) vs 8oz (boxing) seeing which gives more damage....they showed surprisingly 8oz and 4oz are practically the same as far as damage done from a punch...and the average boxer hits harder being they focus solely on punching(my opinion).....but i do respect mma both tough sports that demand alot out of an athlete to be good

Only if your counting direct hit punches. 👍 which is how they are supose to score a no knock out fight. People complain that Ruiz ran out of gas and was hugging Holyfield a few times as he did, But that is not how you score a boxing match. Maybe ping pong😆😅 agree.

Da bin ich aber auf andere Meinung. Hast du nicht gesehen wie dreckig Luiz geboxt hat. Sieh doch was alle hier geschrieben haben er hat nicht geboxt er wollte nur noch evander umarmen und fing dafür mit kopfattaken an. Was er gesetzlich nicht dürfte und der referre sagte kein einzigesmal was. als ob er Geld dafür bekommen hatte gegen ivender zu stimmen. Er wollte nicht Boxen sondern mit irgendein Mittel zu gewinnen. es war zu viel Falschheit und ungesetzliches Boxen ohneende. This fight has always irritated me on so many levels. First off, I don't blame Ruiz that much for doing what he needed to do to try and win the fight. Even though it's a shitty way to fight, at the end of the day it's the ref's job to stop it, give warnings, etc. But we can't expect any type of quality refereeing from that bum Steele. Mills Lane DQ'd that dingbat Akinwande for holding vs. Lewis. At least dock points. THEN, there were two legitimate knockdowns scored by Holyfield that Steele ruled as slips! Both came off of Holyfield's vaunted left hook, and somehow blind Steele calls them slips. If even one of those knockdowns were counted, the fight wouldn't have even been close! Instead, b/c of jerkoff Norman Stone's post-fight complaints, and this ridiculously blind announcing crew being biased for Ruiz (surely Bobby "Mensa" Czyz was drunk, as it's what he eventually got shit canned for) claiming the decision was unjust, Holyfield had to end up fighting this asshole again. Then in the 2nd fight, Holy was easily winning and yet AGAIN should've had a legit body-shot KO victory - but they ruled it a low blow. If Khan vs. Judah was ruled legit, and Crawford vs. Khan legit, and so many others, how the hell wasn't Holyfield's BELT LINE shot not be? Ruiz acted a fool for 5 mins b/c he was out of gas and hurt, and that's what allowed him to recuperate and end up knocking Holy down with that hard right hand. And the 3rd fight, well that was just a robbery on Holyfield who won that fight easy. At that point the boxing establishment just wanted Evander to stop fighting so they tried doing it by robbing him of the title, the same way they did when he beat Valuev. But man, those 3 fights robbed us and Holyfield of valuable time when he was still an elite level fighter, even though he was way past his prime.
