I cried because the jury underestimated Ukraine. Ukraine was number 1 for me💚 The audience vote showed what people really think😌 I'm glad for Italy anyway. But Ukraine deserves more. After I heard Shum I listened to all the songs of Go_a and Onuka ❤️ Ukrainians are so talented🔥

I really think it was some sort of scam that was going on. Seems like we, Ukraine, got the biggest difference between jury's and audience's votes. Same as it was with Melovin in 2018. So thankful for the televoters' support. And thank you so very much for your support too!

its not a scam Nell, we always knew that Ukraine's jury score was going to be less. They still came 9th out of 40 songs. its not bad at all.

I love gjon asking how much they need and then going pfff it’s finished during the splitscreen with maneskin lol

I was so wrapped up in my own reactions during your live that I didn't even notice how dramatic your reactions were 🤣🤣🤣 Apparently myself and the kids (according to the one child that wasn't as enthralled with Eurovision) were all doing EXACTLY the same reaction. Aleesha almost ripped out her hair when Malta didn't get the points she thought they deserved! Adil was over it when Germany and the UK got 0. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to walk out of the room and not come back or throw his slippers at the TV 😂 And Laiba just wanted everyone to win so practically had a meltdown when they didnt 🤣

lol yea, i dont think the results section works as well if we all arent in sync. I even went solo at that point and left the chat during the televote results part. lol omg Im living for Adil, Aleesha and Laiba' reactions - they need to have a reaction channel of their own 😂😂😂

theres SO much toxicity in it BUT it only shows what you interact with, so if you just ignore the shit, the the algorithm learns and only shows you the better side of the Twitter eurovision community, of which there are some very funny and knowledgeable fans

My honest opinion is coming ⚠ There were no surprises in televoting for me. I never understood that hype around San Marino. It didn't give any Adrenaline at all. Malta's song was never appealing to me, even if she has an amazing vocals. The only surprise I can mention is Moldova reaching the finals and somehow managing to get some points. Regarding Italy. I put my bet on them straight after seeing San Remo performance.

haha nice, Id say you got a good amount of money from that! Yea this happens in the community all the time - generally Eurofans love bops way more than the general public and so their potential gets inflated. ALSO there were so many of them this year that they just cancelled each other out

Hiya Tom. And yes, it's all over but gosh. So many things to say: Italy TOTALTY deserved to win. God, I just listened to their English track 'I wanna be your slave' and it gave me chills like I've not had since being a 17 year old hearing The Clash for the first time. Maneskin will absolutely go worldwide and this, potentially, could change the way Eurovision is perceived in the future. Am I hoping for too much? The first time since 1995 that the top 3 songs have all been non-English. That's amazing, wonderful. Wow, this really is the Europe we want and love. Bring on the diversity The bangers didn't make it. One after another, Croatia, Israel, Serbia, San Marino failed this year. TBH I was totally shocked at the San Marino result. I had work colleagues who were never into Eurovision totally hyped by Adrenalina. 13 points? All the love from the community? What happened? James Newman is currently #1 in the UK iTunes chart. God bless him - he's no performer, but it's a really decent song. For everyone who says the UK dismisses Eurovision, there are 28 ESC songs in the top 100 today - more than any other country The Big 5? in the last 10 years, Spain have finished bottom five 7 times, UK 6, Germany 5, France 4. Would a voluntary semi-final selection help them, help them to look at being more adventurous?

yea i was pretty gutted about San Marinos placing as well. the only reason i can think is that there were so many bops this year (which i love btw) and so they cancelled each other out a bit. Also so many of them qualified for the final. Also the community does tend to overhype these songs A LOT. But i still really feel for her because she put her entire being into that song. glad to hear James is doing well in the charts - will need to see where he lands when the charts are released lasyt this week I dont think there needs to be a drastic solution for the big 5, other than that they need to DO BETTER

@@ESCTom I do think the big 5 need to re-consider how they interact with the contest. They must realise that their instant qualification is a negative in the long term, no matter how good their song is. The BBC obviously have doubts as the contest gains 7-8 million viewers each year and they probably think that would suffer if the UK weren't in the final. Let's' look at the World Cup... British viewers would still watch Brazil v Germany in a final, absolutely. I think British viewers would still tune in to a spectacle like the Eurovision final even if they weren't in it. As an Irish man, perhaps you have some insight as to whether or not a country continues to watch a final regardless of participation

@@ESCTom yea true, I do like that tho: not everyone is releasing in March, everything is more spread out already! Also idk if you know but Eesti Laul songs are also already out (we have had 4 quarter finals since mid-November) , FIK songs are out of course, and Bulgaria has released already too!

Ever so cruel to put the camera on everyone 🤷🏻‍♂️ It also borders on the patronising how they drag out the last few votes 👎 Sort of glad there were so many zeros - shows countries that ‘safe’ doesnt work 😉

yea the ending is a little long. I blame X factor like shows for that Hmmmm im 50-50 on showing the artists in the televote. if they only show them during good scores, then we know a bad score is coming if they dont. Also its a chance for the artist to be in the spotlight and show some love for those who have supported them. Maybe a little bit too much focus is put on the points validation

I visited there in 2016 while travelling and picked up the t shirt there. The reason i was wearing it was because I wanted to wear something red to support Gjon. Thats why im wearing those "white" wrist bands 😂

Felt results were a weird fluke. First big event post-corona essentially, lots of people showed up to vote who normally don't, most of them rock fans as Finland and Italy were making waves prior to the contest and then Ukraine joined the fray as well as a cool techno track. If this had happened two years prior we would now be looking at an Iceland win probably. Net effect was that regular pop songs were butchered in favour of more alternative entries. Normally I would be supporting this, but I don't particularly enjoy the Finnish song, also believe the Italian song is really rather standard rock. Therefore feels to me like France was robbed of a win, but you can't control circumstances. So yeah let it be what it may be, but I was pretty disappointed. I have some doubts about Italy hosting as well. Felt the Dutch hosting was pretty fresh. Pace was pretty high, amount of 'hey look at us Dutch folk, we're awesome' moments were kept to a minimum. Feel like the Italians are likely to revert back to a more languid style (akin to San Remo) and have the public bathe in meaningless Italian history. Really hope this won't happen like that.

yea i do think that there is a luck element each year with what the mood in Europe is like at the time, and also what other songs are there. If there were 10 rock songs, Finland and Italy's TV would be way less. But on the flipside, they took a risk by sending something different.

No it wasn't he was off-key for most of the performance and had poor staging and running order, the result was inevitable and in fairness due to the strength of that grand final, deserved.

Malta's sing has one particular thing - the forced message about guys.

they werent robbed, this song was always going to way better with the jury than the televote. 12th is a very good result
