So pleased for Luke, gutted for Olexi I don’t want to see anyone injured. Luke’s strategy on the deadlift nearly backfired on him, he timed it to do all 5 and was so close but just couldn’t get that last weight over his knees, that meant he was one of the first out on the Viking press, so had very little rest. Obviously he’s a mountain when it comes to pressing but I feel he could have got another 2 if he’d either gone faster on the first 4 deadlifts or lifted the 5th, therefore giving him an extra few minutes of rest. Either way at 39 to come out and win Europes strongest man is a massive feet and I couldn’t be happier for him. The young lad (sorry I would spell his name wrong) has so much potential, he would have podiumed if he could have lifted that last stone, he was slower than Luke and Aivers so would have dropped the half a point lead he had on them but he is definitely one for the future. What we have learnt is nothing is a given until all events have been done. The stones have always been notorious for mistakes (I would though have preferred to see the heavier stones, this is after all Europes and I believe less chance of injury as competitors take that split second longer to make sure they have got the grip etc). Olexis may not have got injured but he also wouldn’t have managed the last stone. The right result in the end. Well done to Luke and all the competitors, what a great show 👍🇬🇧

brothers who are 2X Europes and 2X WSM .. that's insane. Pls get a Loz interview with them and their Dad, even a quickie. especially the angle of father's pride for Stoltman senior and for Luke winning as a dad. .. hits me and probably other men in our cold dead hearts

Super happy for Luke! I hope Oleskii wasn’t hurt too bad and has a speedy recovery. No one wants to win because someone else got hurt.

Buzzing to see Luke reclaim the title, you can see how much it means to him. Has to be one of the closest giants shows I’ve ever seen. Absolutely gutting for novikov with his bicep. Hope he heels up quick. He did very well to come back after a bad start as well Also fojtu is going to be a monster in a year or 2. Crazy that he’s that good at only 22 years old. He’s definitely going to be a problem for people at wsm in the groups

Interesting to me that car walk times were much slower, vp was lower reps, dl ladder slower times as a whole. Wsm is going to be a different beast for many of them Hopefully stone walk is removed from the 2025 roster completely.

Yes but you have to remember all the events in this are one after the other in a few hours, world's you have a long time to recover so better and heavier results

Happy for Luke, but i dont need slow mo to that Aivas' last stone went up faster and settled down faster. I'm not an expert on the official rules, though.

Watched Luke and Aivars' stone run at 0.25x speed - both literally took their hands off at the exact same time. What are the odds of that? 😂
