Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

of course, but volvo is top tier. for a new brand like genesis to come close to volvo while keeping its sleek looks? sorta impressive
Im here after one year and a half of driving this car, i can tell you 100% with confidence this car has saved me from more than 5 possible crashes, to the point i thought the car just halted and stopped while i was catching my breath each time.

@@derbigpr500 I live in South Korea and I did drive GV 70 and x3 20i. Exterior and interior of GV70 is way better than X320i. And powertrain of GV70 is on the next level compare to x3 20i, definitely.

Owned them all. Just switched from Q5 to this and I wouldn't go back. Bmw does have a slightly quieter cabin otherwise everything else is very comparable and it's left down to styling.

@@user-jw4dh9wv6w 브레이크 계통은 확실히 내,수 재질차이가 있고 라인도 다르게 운용됩니다. 내,수 동일부품 사용한다고 믿는 사람들 부품이 같다면 북미에선 리콜하고 국내용은 리콜 안하는 이유나 말해봐라. 어리석은것들 그렇게 속아주니 현기가 안바뀌지.

@@devilnme 국내에선 안 하는 이유) 차가 출시된 당시의 법을 위반하여 내는 벌금이 리콜로 손해보는 비용보다 적음. 그래서 매우 최근에 출시해 최신 법의 영향을 받는 G80e의 경우는 거의 차가 출시하자마자 리콜을 시작함.

In Europe, many manufacturers have introduced the center airbag since 2020 as a result of new EuroNCAP testing protocols. In the USA, I believe it's only Genesis and GM. December 13, 2021 7:30 pm

I might be wrong but in the early 2010s I think there was a Chevy Cruze ad with them demonstrating the safety and they talked about a central airbag but it was so long ago I might be totally wrong lol

@@tomferrari517 You’re thinking of the 2013 model Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia, the GM Lambda platform crossover SUVs. They introduced an optional front center airbag then. I remember those ads too, thought it was neat. December 15, 2021 8:12 am

Schreibt auf und blendet die Spezifikationen ein. Mit % und Geschwindigkeit direkt ins Video. Bitte macht es richtig. DANKE. Lob auf euch. Und zwischendurch wenn ihr könnt evt. Videos mit der Doppelten Belastung! anstatt mit 34Kmh seitenaufprall mal mit 68KMh oder so. einfach mal Specials bringen. LG

Think NCAP should use a heavier dummy car to be fair. Momentum is mass dependant.

The dummy cars are based on average weight of current road vehicles I believe

@@blazeclarke Yeah I agree, but they would have done that for smaller cars to pass. Looking at how the dummy flew off after the collision, it would have only had the weight of a small car. Think they should adjust the weight when testing bigger cars in order to test the car's real structural integrity.

@@GT-gp2nb in a way though that wouldn't be a fair test, having different weights for different cars. In addition, it's only a couple of the tests - for the full frontal test, pole test, rollover tests etc. weight of the vehicle the car is impacting isn't a factor.

@@blazeclarke That’s true, or perhaps they should just use a heavier average SUV weight on all the cars. Especially with more heavier SUV and EV’s on the road nowadays. People who don’t know might think a 5 star rated small car is just as safe as a 5 star rated big car. But the smart car is a good example. Got a 5 star safety rating but totally failed when collided with a heavier SUV. I understand this is a hard one especially when smaller cars usually come at a lower price point. Perhaps mandatory safety tech like AEB might help.

@@GT-gp2nb they do use the same average weight across all the cars they test, obviously you might have a bigger car hit you, no matter what you're driving, but the average they use is inflated anyway as most of the cars bring sold are SUV's. They actually recently adjusted the tests too, so they do a side impact test that hits the car much higher up, much like a collision with an SUV would be in reality. Quite interesting how the scores were affected across the board, for both small hatchbacks and big SUV's

각각의 비용이 41,000달러이고 능동형 안전 시스템 옆에 4개의 테스트가 있다고 생각하면 테스트 비용은 164,000달러 이상일 수 있습니다.
