Euro NCAP performs a series of safety tests on light commercial vehicles:
Active safety is tested based on the van’s equipment: Autonomous Emergency Braking systems (car-to-car, pedestrian, and cyclist scenarios), lane support and speed assist technologies, and occupant status monitoring (attention assist and seatbelt reminders).

Dacaia/Renault decides to remove the radar and rely on the camera for breaking just like Tesla, but a low-resolution camera fails at night striking a pedestrian at 1:34! I get they didn't have a budget for HD parking cameras, but seriously front camera needs to have a bigger sensor for low-light environments if you decide to remove the radar.
From what i've seen on their site,it had ok-ish ratings on everything except the "Safety assist" bullshit which consists on the car whining about the backseat passenger seatbelt,speed assistant and lane support. Fucks sake man,this car is already pretty expensive and all of these extra sensors would just add more to the manufacturing cost. 10+ years old cars don't have that either but they got a better score because those requirements didn't exist back then. How the hell can you have so many expectations for a low cost suv?

Yeah it got a bit confusing because the ratings evolved a lot since last year... but still now all recently launched cars are rated the same way so it's pretty fair if you compare modern cars. Assist technology is very useful, it can help you avoid hitting a pedestrian or stopping the car if you have a medical condition who makes you feel unwell while driving....

@@manu.yt25 They are useless to me. I have 2 cars which both have some of those sensors. My Ford Puma would beep and try to brake to "avoid" hitting cars in front of me that were like 2-300 meters away from me,and my Dacia Logan 3 would get confused by shiny stuff and brake by itself,i was crossing train tracks,the sun was reflecting on the tracks and the car stopped me right on the railway crossing. I deactivated those stupid things on both of them,i don't need no sensor to assist me

@@nushnume Different brands have different assists but the two cars you mention are already pretty old, they were conceived in 2018-2019, most new cars nowadays does much better than that. I rented a Puma in Iceland few years ago and the assists were okay except sometimes a bit of random unpredictability but it's okay, those are entry level cars anyway.

@@user-nb9eb8ky4j 33.000 in what currency? Here in Romania where it's being made it starts from 18k euro and it ends at 27k for the best one. The chassis is still an 18k chassis but with different engines and features. Compared with something like a Touareg or a X6 yes,it's a low cost suv
You don’t need safety in a car. You just need CarPlay and rearview camera. 😂

Passenger safety-wise IT IS 4 stars, but the overall star rating is based on the category scoring the lowest, which is the Safety Assist, as expected.

@@costelgigi31 No, the insufficient number of airbags that don't adequately protect the driver is one of it's weakest points and beside that, obviously the insufficient or low quality safety assists. I've read the report and the driver's chest and head protection is awful for today's standards.

Ăștia nu îți testează versiunea cheală sau aia scumpa…îți testează masina in cu echiparile legate de siguranța …nu cu tapițerie pe care poți sa te pisi sau nu…nu pe tableta de acum 10 ani sau mai știu ce butoane de pe uși de la modelele de Renault de acum 10-15 ani…lăsați prosteală asta cu patriotismul asta fals punând in fata o companie low budget ca și calitate a produselor , Dacia best buy …duster best Off road….haideți sa luam lucrurile așa cum sunt ele…in realitate…Dacia este buna sa te duci din a in b fără sa îți forțezi norocul sau sa ai așteptări mari…iar Dusterul asta ultimul este un rahat ca si Off road…modelul anterior si nu Facelift cu motorul diesel era singurul care își făcea treaba atât cât putea fără sa îl modifici sau sa ai vreo pasiune spre asta(vezi Cosmin mcs) …deci realitati ….ai avut banii de o Dacie noua indiferent ce model, perfect sa o stăpânești sănătos …dar NU TRAII intr-o deziluzie totala ca ai cumpărat altceva.

@@costelgigi31 you're an absolute idiot. 70% AOP score corresponds in this assessment to 4* rating for adult protection. Side protection is full score regardless of any comment, even if the deformation of the body in white is at that stage. And keep in mind that this rating is applied for all versions, meaning that the 17.300 euro (VAT included) Duster has the same protection.
this is a good car. the score is not great, not bad.

Slab slab, pentru 19k euro pret de baza sa fie doar 70% scor pt ocupanti… macar arata bine. Ca idee cu modelele vechi in accidente mai serioase mor toti, verificati ziarele. Testele astea sintetice refleca doar o idee. In realitate accidentele mai ales in Romania sunt la niste viteze mult mai mari. Drumuri bune!

@@luca-ioanbotescu5463 În Audi scapi (după 2014), mă refer la Q5/Q7, A6, și am văzut accidente și diferite cazuri, la frontale nici parbrizul nu se sparge (în multe cazuri), nici măcar nu crapă, la laterale rezistă mult mai bine! Decât să dai 25k€ pe un duster ca ăsta, mai bine îți iei un Q5/Q7 SH! Din păcate Dacia este sabotată din interior de către cei de la Renault, ne țin jos să poată ei vinde mai mult, stați liniștiți că ei vând și la ora actuală Clio și Megane-uri noi cu motorul 1.5dci, pe noi nu ne-au mai lăsat, pentru că vindeam prea mult și nu mai vindeau ei. Lucrurile amestecate miroase a kkt, știți vorba aia? Dacia trebuie să iasă din grupul Renault cât mai repede posibil!

there is the comment of the euroncap after the tests on this 3rd gen of duster Apart from the neck of the 10 year dummy in the frontal test, protection of which was adequate, the Duster provided good protection of all critical body areas for both child dummies in the frontal offset and side barrier impacts. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. Clear information is provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. The Duster has no child presence detection system. All of the child restraint types for which the Duster is designed could be properly installed and accommodated in the car.

I can't believe that they used to be first auto manufacturer to get 5 stars and now struggle get decent rating. Side crash is unbelievable.

Side crash is about the same for most petrol cars, look the crash test of the Renault Rafale for example while on the premium segment. The only safer cars in that way are electric cars, the battery in the floor provide more rigidity for that kind of crashes.

That's not the reason for getting only three stars, the rating is because of electronic safety features rating ("Safety Assist" category).
Cars scoring less than 80% in adult protection should be banned from being sold. Period.

Those are particles of pigeon sperm, they are everywhere since the pigeon invasion of main cities. This kind of lenses that avoid the chemtrails are more prone to detect pigeon sperm. En las pruebas de detección de personas falló menos que el Seta Arona 2022 y detecataba y se paraba antes y aún así el Seat Arona le dan una puntuación de 65 y al Duster de 60, en la seguridad de asistencia lo hacen practicamente igual y al Seta Arona le dan 70 puntos y al Duster 57... Se nota que han querido bajarle puntuación, el duser es de 4 estrellas, no es 5 por la prueba del pilar que ahí si se nota que le falta rigidez para ese tipo de golpes... Marketing porque sera super ventas y algunas marcas no quieren que lo sea xD

EVERYONE has to bear in mind that cost-efficacy is the primary ethos of Dacia, the safety rating is a direct reflection of the passive and active safety that is offered as standard (they rarely test optional safety equipment) and a LOT of active safety tech can end up being REALLY expensive, which drives up the price of the car itself

the roof is the weekest point of duster. Having a high ground clearence, it is very likely to end up upside down in a Duster, not quite sure alive.

No, Duster doesn't regret more than 3 stars. Check safety score for adult and child passengers. And that score is it's almost shamefully low.

It shows that(especially side pole impact) new generation Duster has not been improved in body aspect. This test is identical with the previous version. It's sad that I expected better results. If you hit a pole from a side with like 60km/h, your chance to survive is 0 since it's almost lethal in 30km/h. Duster may be improved in looks but definilty didn't had any improvement in body structure.

Test is just too easy. Nearly every car have 5 stars. We need small overlap where mobile deformable barrier goes 60 km/h and tested car 50km/h. We need heavier barrier. More speed in large overlap crash test.

Why only 3 stars ? It is very simple - low safety rating for adult occupants and very bad result of pole test. Car with only 70% rating for adult protection can't acquire 4 stars.

It's a very long way from 3* to 5*. And about the price, I really think that this Duster would be more expensive than a Kia Sportage or Ford Kuga if it used the same quality of materials and safety technology, so no, with the current generation the Duster isn't cheap anymore.
Disappointed. Hybrid models are as expensive as Renault Arkana. Unacceptable at this price. 70% adult protection vs 96% Renault models is terrible.

Hmm, honestly I expected better results since this new Duster generation on CMF-B platform was introduced. Despite the price ramp up, no significant improvement comes. Just imagine to spent overall 23K €, which is not cheap at all, knowing that it's actually not exactly OK from a safety point of view. And this car mainly targets the people who wants an new car in personal ownership. So obviously Duster should serve as a family car... Dissapointing, and those results basically convinced myself to look somewhere else, however after the test drive I was pretty sure this will be the new car for my family. Too bad, so next time again and better, please.

Literally nothing 😂 Only if you want to use it maybe as a boat 😂 And also because it doesn't have an airbag between the front passengers in case of hitting a pole ( maybe 1 in 100.000 chances ), if it would of had this 2 things it would have received 90% in an 2024 rating, not bad huh? 😅
