Ethmoid bone

Ғылым және технология

We looked at the sphenoid bone last week, so while we're there let's look at an important neighbour, the ethmoid bone.
We'll have a look to see where it is, what bones are nearby, the spaces that it connects, we'll talk about the olfactory nerve, the walls of the orbit, and have a think about what might happen if this bone is fractured.

    Honestly I will miss you as a teacher once I'm done with anatomy. I come from a small place, it's called Kosova, i don't know if you heard about. So, English is not my native language but you speak so calmly and intelligibly that I fully understand you. God bless you.

    Hello from Denmark! Thank you truly for your hard work having studied all of this, and then the work of communicating it online. I'm in awe of how much you know from the names to the functions. All my questions were answered in a kind and intelligent way, and I learned even more than I expected. You are a phenomenal teacher. I am very grateful for this oppertunity, honestly I was sitting through the whole video smiling, taking notes and drawing along. I have been wanting to learn anatomy since I was 14, maybe even younger. Now 10 years later I have found your channel to be the right resource for me. For me its both a scientific interest, but I primarily have the ambition of learning anatomy to become a better artist in the genre of classical realism. I can't wait to tell my collegues about the exciting placement and function of the ethmoid bone! I was recently holding a plastic skull and wondering for hours with great curiosity what was going on inside the skull and also on the bottom side. Now I know why those tiny holes were there - the crista galli! Thank you for the generosity of putting your lessons online for free, I can't stress enough how wonderful it is. Makes me glad to live in the present times despite all the current news. I wish you all the best, you seem happy in your surroundings, what a rare and beautiful thing.

    Great production values and explanations! Thank you so much for making these videos. A&P in the time of COVID is definitely a struggle, and I really appreciate what you're doing. Love the Cubist ethmoid bone :) Does anyone have recommendations for quality teaching models of the skeletal system? I'm realizing how hard it will be to learn all this without access to a teaching lab. I want to pick up and hold these bones, or at least good representations.

    Notes to self: - a descending XXX view of the ethmoid bone placese it between frontal on either side and anterior to sphenoid - as bones go, the nasal cavity's are Ethmoid medially and conchae bilaterally -- superior 2/3 of septum is ethmoid bone, inferior 1/3 is vomer (cartillage) Nasolacrimal duct perforates inferior aspect of orbit's lacrimal bone, drains into inferior meatus.

    Hello Sir, thank you for helping medical students with Anatomy. My question to you is, at 6:54 minute, are the bones inside the nasal cavity inferior nasal conchae and superior nasal conchae?

  • @preetamdandapath5277

    @preetamdandapath5277

    That's the middle and inferior conchae. Superior conchae is present much superiorly and posteriorly, so not visible from outside.
