there are 2 ways someone can hate this song. 1. it's too catchy. If the chorus got stuck in a doctors they might accidentally give someone a prescription for 'American boy' 2. It remind them of their ex.

@Wry tho? It doesn't matter if an app uses it. It's not your song, and you can't say people are bad because they listened to a song first on a app that has 800 million people using it. If you think about it, tik tok has made this song better by making more people listen to it. But I do agree some songs are ruined by tiktok trends, but not necessarily this one.
I love how flat, almost monotone Kanye’s voice is throughout the whole song, especially his last verse. It contrasts with Estelle’s dynamic voice so perfectly, this might be one of the most iconic music duos in history and they only made one song together.

am I the only one stumped by this comment and its popularity, I thought Kanye's verse was one of the perfect examples of incorporating a rap verse in a pop song, he sort of sings and adds variation in his voice and doesn't just straight rap the verse. contrast that with most rap verses, Kanye's is definitely not monotone
