I think the screams sounded too Jotaro rather than Erwin. I'm no voice acting expert but it would've been cool if he gave Erwin a different kind of scream than Jotaro's. Erwin's normal speaking voice is "Erwin" though. I'm sure the VA has range since he played Sébastian from black butler and was kinda unrecognizable in that role.

You’ve got a pretty simplistic black-and-white view of this story that clearly has no “good guys” in it, don’t you? Also, from my perspective, Erwin probably wouldn’t have agreed with the Rumbling, considering that reducing the entire outside world to ash would just render all of the Scout’s sacrifices to reach it pointless, as well as rendering his father’s death pointless. Plus, in addition to the needless loss of life, the Rumbling also leads to a needless loss of resources. The only reason Paradis advanced at all during the time skip was largely because of the resources and knowledge brought to them by foreigners, particularly Onyonkopon and the Hizuru clan. With the outside world wrecked from the Rumbling, it’s realistically only a matter of time before Paradis runs out of resources for a second time and has go back to living in the dark ages because all of the other resources would have been destroyed. Paradis could have benefited a lot from the outside world remaining intact if only anyone on Paradis had Erwin’s negotiating power and reasoning. Also, he would have been more proactive in stopping the fascist, nationalist, and cult-like Yeagarists from taking control of the government. What I’m saying is that Erwin would have been much smarter and more efficient about this whole situation than Eren, Armin, or Hange could ever be. Season 4 would have played out completely differently.

The marley and war stuff just felt very generic because many other shows and stories already have themes about war and what not. AOT was very intriguing and special to me because of the idea of humanity fighting on the brink against mysterious monsters named titans. the sacrifices and death they had to endure because of this unknown giant humanoid monster. The idea of a world outside the walls. But thats just my opinion. Im no writer, so i wouldnt know how to expand on those ideas to make it deeper

Everyone is entitled to opinion but it is also known fact that the series peaked at season 3 minus the Reiner plot armor at the end of S3. S4 diverted out expectations started strong and then turn into mumbo jumbo to help portray how pointless the idea of freedom is. I understand the the point of the ending and it's execution but it surely could have been better or went an original direction

I don't think the pain kicks in right away with an injury like that. I was nearby when someone had their foot crushed, he didn't feel a thing until the shock wore off. I myself had the tip of my thumb cut off and the shock drowned out the pain completely for a good minute. There's a huge rush of adrenaline also.

0:55 is when Erwin Smith earned all of my Respect. Dude never faltered, never wavered, never stopped, just susumeeeeeeeee!!

the thing about that scene is what he says before, "There is no future where humanity can inhabit these lands without Eren!" he strongly believes in this as if he knew what happens in the entire story of AoT... this no longer has anything to do with scared or anything, this is plain not giving a fuck for ones own life, only later he realizes that he turned off his will to survive, to see the outcome, to prove his fathers point etc. (season 3) this is the type of man that is potrait there, a man that doesnt think about anything but producing results! even when his own life is given for it...

The Shinzou wo Sasageyo when he's on horse back is so iconic. But nothing will ever give me goosebumps like what the scream from atop the wall does. Man has given his entire life to the Survey Corps and going beyond the wall and only ever been criticised for it. But here he is. His corps been cheered on. The second scene is so underrated. He charges first without hesitation and states it plainly why Eren is crucial and without asking he just tells them to give their hearts. Even when in the mouth of a titan he does not stop telling them to advance. Love it! I think Every leader brought something to the table in the series and Erwin being one of the earliest was a good choice. At the start things were so bleak, Unsure if they would be able to overcome the titans but Erwin basically was the quote "Do not go quietly into that good night" personified and that inspired everyone around him. Voice actor killed it.

Erwin speech would give his soldier 100% buff for sure

Erwin is probably one of the best written characters. He doesn't fight, hes never doing cool stunts, but you love every moment hes on screen.

Which is even more badass because he's not just good as a commander, he's actually extremely proficient in 3DMG and survival, the dude survive for years when his formation didn't even exist, and him being able to sneak on Berthold in the middle of a titan melee with one arm less (just cut out, so he must suffer like hell) prove that he's in the top tier of the survey corps in commanding AND fighting

All that chaos within the Paradis in S04 would not have happened if Erwin lived. They seemed so lost and divided. Just goes to show how much impact this man actually had and the weight he has been carrying. Imagine what he would have done if he had all that crucial info about titans. Truly GOAT.

Better people have explained it but I think it’s actually a blessing he didn’t get to make it. Think about it: if he DID, he would’ve realized that everything he did just to make it to that one spot would’ve have been for really NOTHING. If he found that photo, he would’ve still had to kill perhaps even a thousand more troops to fight off in ANOTHER WAR. He was tired as shit having to be the one leading so many to They deaths. But when he gave up and lead his troops into their deaths one last time, he felt truly liberated and died guilt free that he was no longer just using troops to get to his dream alone. He died content, something most people in this anime will never be able to

Attack on Titan have a lot of characters who will be remembered for many years, Erwin is surely one of them. the hype this man and his voice actor had given is simply amazing.

yeah, as much as i love armin, so much of what happened in s4 couldve been prevented had erwin lived. kind of a shame

During my conscript time there was one young lietuanant trainee like Erwin. He could lift your spirits just by talking and giving the right words. I was very bad at the army and I still remember this one morning jog/march where I was about to drop and could not keep up. He would run next to me and give this uplifting speech and at that moment I had extra energy to run in front of the line and keep it up there. One of those guys you would follow to death and become loyal over your own country.

Bro when Erwin got his arm bit off and kept screaming "ADVANCE!!!" My respect for him went through the roof. Like Good lord, that man was different.
