Great demonstration, thank you for posting this! I want to build a custom Gibson guitar inspired bass with white binding and I was wondering how binding was done! Thanks again!

Hi Matthew the bearing size is a matched fit with the binding bit. It only routs about a 1/16" of an inch in to perfectly match the binding. Both of which were purchased from Stewart McDonald on line.

He used SciGrip #16 (Weld on 16) solvent - type acrylic cement. Would have been nice to have told the viewers in between telling viewers how great a cement it is..

If you would rebind a body, would you first take off the paint, replace the existing binding and then repaint? Thanks

Hi Eric. Thanks for the video. I am really curious about two things. What is the size of the router bit bearing and what kind of glue do you use? Thats because I heard your comment where you said the glue mixes with plastic...meaning its a good glue. Thank you in advance for your support.

Doing a comparison of videos. How people put binding on. At the factory they use band's that take months to comprehend how to wrap. I saw another guy that was a home builder like you and he started at the neck and went around. He fumbled a lot and I didn't like his technique because he kept leaving it too loose and having to go back many time's. You started at the bottom and that left you no seam. I think he could learn some things from you. Starting at the bottom seems to have also given you a better starting point.

Hey Eric, Thanks for the video. What is the glue you are using? You mentioned having a custom bridge made. Where can I get one of them? Peace

Eric, great videos...have you done set necks, like studio Lester's? (Meaning upgrading a studio with a set neck to install binding on an older studio.). I just did a nice Goldtop upgrade and was considering putting binding on the body to enhance the look.

Hi Tommy, sorry for the late reply! I haven't built any Lester's. I basically like to come with my own designs. I am partial to build a Telecaster now & then though! Take care!

Perhaps while you are demonstrating how noisy your router is, you could edit out that sound and replace it with a bit of information about the router bit you use, and how you set the depth to make the binding channel

strange that you would clean the channel, then proceed to sand something right next to it! I'm joking of course great building.
