I really appreciate that Paul! More BRAND NEW LESSONS on the way my friend! right here at "MartyMusic"
Marty, you are just the best teacher. The way you patiently break it down is just awesome:
I started playing many years ago but fell out of practice and got in a rut. I'm getting back into playing more these days and your tutorials are a real boost. You're a great teacher and make the mysterious achievable. Thanks Marty
you taught me the solo to this years ago... I still play it the same way.. of course with a little improv. but it's cool too see you doing all over again. don't give up. YOU... ARE... the best Guitar Sensei
Marty I have followed your lessons and postings for more than 5 years now. You are awesome and Layla is one of my favourite songs of all time. Thanks so much from the UK
I saw your Layla quick intro tip today & sourced your full version from 6 years ago! Beautiful work, Marty, and thanks for inspiring me to play more - just for how it makes me feel!
Marty, I am just one of your students you have helped over the years. Started July 2020 having no real expectations, just to detach a bit from reality. I learned so many songs by now thanks to you and your wonderful teaching methods; one thanks ain't enough, really.
Thanks Marty! I picked up my guitar for the first time in a long time and learned this lesson and you are giving me ambition to get back into it!
Super quick and easy. I'm liking your looping/repeating on the song progression. It's the perfect amount of detail in the beginning and then constant repeat to practice in time with you. Thank you!

The most challenging part was the beginning... when it became easy is when i decided to use my pinky finger for the hammer on and remove it from my D minor chord. Now i've nailed it. Just needed to commit on which way I was going to do it.
wow,the way you show the alternatives of the hard sections, it's really helpful. Thanks man!
I played this to a Japanese girl at a house party and got laid. Thanks Marty.

Great lesson - it finally simplified a song I have toyed with unsuccessfully for ages! Thanks Marty!
I have been subscribed to this channel for close to a decade and I just learned I was unsubbed through no action on my own, but I'm back. Thanks for your dedication to teaching.
Marty keep on killin' it! I started learning guitar less than a month ago and you have been the channel that I keep consistently coming back to for quality lessons and advice on all matters guitar.
Marty, you make guitar playing a real joy and learning easy. Thank you for the hard work you put into your videos.
I’ve always been an electric player, for a nice new acoustic this week to start learning more chords and this is a great one to learn Marty. Thanks! Great lesson.
Marty, you always do a great job of explaining these songs. Thank you for all the help!
You are the teacher I look for first when trying to learn a bit. Love your way!
Thank you so much Marty for this wonderful lesson, never thought I could learn this song so quick. Favourite of mine too.
Marty, I love your style of instruction. The dah-dahs and bom-boms...I'm all about that!
Thanks Marty. I picked this up super quick from your lesson. Over the years I would try to learn it straight from a tab and give up. You made it really easy. You're a great teacher!
This was great man, had a lot of fun learning this. Thank you so much
Thanks Marty! You are an amazing teacher, watched it once through and was able to get it down pretty solid thanks to your perfect instruction!
Thanks Marty I'm still fairly new to Barre chords( and guitar) but I've tackled e minor shape, a minor shape and now a shape because of this song. 😁😁
One of the best lessons with such clarity on the song structure. On the C chord, 1st position or barre, both work-yet on later videos you can spot Clapton gracefully using a C Add9. Middle-A3, Index -D2, Ring B3. I kind of like working the Bb barre chord with Index-A1, Ring D3, Pinkie-G3 just to get all the strings ringing perfectly even though other barres are suitable as Marty demonstrates. EDIT -One the Bb barre, going back how Eric does it, Index on A1, pinkie barring D3&G3. Then the Cadd9 and back to Marty’s perfect Dm chord. Ah, satisfaction. Whew!
Thank you Marty for teaching us all the great Rock songs through all the years! ♥♥♥
Fabulous playing
Heeeey Marty! It has been a while that I've done some guitar practice but every time I look for songs I end up using your lesson and you always gave me a laugh at the start. Thanks Marty!
Great lesson. Id forgotten how much fun this song is. Just did the looper thing and hammered out some fun lead licks. Thanks Marty
Really like this lesson! Can you please do lesson of Sultans of swing-Dire straits?

You are always the best tutor. Have enjoyed this lesson very much.Thank you Marty
Thanks for doing what you do. Been watching your lessons for a few years now and I love how easy to follow they are. Keep up the great work sir \m/
Just started guitar again after 15-20 years. Recommended Marty by a guitar mate. Bloody marvelous. Great presentation, humour, ‘upbeat-ness’. Recently read a quote by Einstein; “if you can’t explain something to a six-year old, you don’t understand it yourself”. Well done Marty! I feel like a very accomplished six-year old:). Keep it up
Marty you're awesome. been following u for the past 7 years. learnt so much from u. God bless u
Marty, you have taught me so much since I've been following you, truly incredible, thanks so much
Most epic guitar instructor on KZread. Sincere thanks man, you've been a huge help to somebody who's never taken legit lessons, you make it all look easier than it is lol, but you make it seem possible and have so many great songs, and the way you explain it is better than anybody else. I hate those videos where they just keep talking, just get to the playing and move through it! You also do a great job explaining the theory or how a certain skill is applicable to other styles or songs. I sincerely hope you're getting paid well off of all this
thanks for sharing your knowledge of such a fantastic array of songs
Excellent lesson Marty, thank you for taking the time to create this, welcome back!.
hey, thanks. i have always put off learning the verse chords. you got right down to it. thanks again.
Always great to watch your videos mate. Informative and on the money!
As always, another great lesson. Glad to have you back, bud!
Got it!! Now learn the solo..thx sooo much Marty❤❤❤❤❤
Really helpful videos, well explained, well payed!
Amazing how you are able to give a lesson on a song like Layla that even a crappy guitar novice like me can almost now play. Thanks!

Wonderfull lesson. Love this song. Unplugged as well as "plugged in"!! Thanks so much!
Forget my comment on the short reels… you took us all the way through it. Thanks! Like your style, no nonsense vibe.
Once again, thank you Marty!
By far the BEST tutorial on this song! Thank you for sharing!!
Another absolutely excellent lesson Marty! Even though this one is over 7 years old these videos are still an awesome resource!! I somehow manage to play the D minor chord as I usually would and able to reach over with my pinky to hit that A string, but I like your method here too!!
Great lesson Marty, thanks for this lesson been wanting to learn the acoustic version for ages.
Great job. Easy learning
Excellent lesson.
TY so muchh! was esay to catch up with you, a year ago i started to play through your teaching and now i'm able to play this song so amazing and inspiring keep up the work!

Marty, just want to say that after 45 years of playing in a band, I have lost my hearing and have a cochlear implant. So I have problems picking out notes and keys etc. I am playing a lot from memory so your videos are great for breaking down songs for playing.I appreciate the time that you take to explain the songs and helps me a great deal as I dont wont to stop playing. Many thanks, PJ
Thanks Marty, what a great way to start my day learning Layla first thing in the morning!
