    Love that part in the song where he goes E, A, and back to the original riff. It just sounds so powerful somehow.

    About that change to the B flat: Instead of holding the Dm form and using the middle finger for C on the 5th string, try jumping to the B flat and use the ring finger for C on the 5th string. Then drop the ring finger to bar the 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings. A little less hectic.

    nice one Shane I enjoyed this one nice take on it..although I'm still much more partial to the Derek version every now and then I do like the laid-back version although radio did kill it for me I'm afraid Bud.. and I love Slowhand..been playing a lot of tunes from the money and cigarettes album I got back into that 1981 classic and I'm really digging the tunage on that one.. and I'm hoping to score some tickets this year to his new crossroads concert that he is bringing out again which is all star awesome. just like the original one in Dallas the one in Chicago I'm proud to own my both DVDs are those. have a good weekend hope you're getting some warmer weather up there in Canada.

    I always found it easier to play the entire chorus/riff around the 5th fret using all barre chords. Personal preference is good - and I’ve usually found people cheering by the time Ikve hit the 2nd beat of the Dm…. Shame it took me almost 5 decades to learn how to play it!

    I've always played D not Dm and take my middle finger from E string up to the A string the same as you. Much easier. I have the Tab and it says D5

    Yes - thanks Rod - the D5 is really a power chord.....neither major or minor but it is implied minor - Cheers! Shane

  • @GuitarAtWork

    Hi Dave - a lot of people ask for sure....it depends on what I have going on. If I need them to sound fresh. But just day to day playing/teaching etc I change them every couple of weeks. But realize I am on a guitar 8 hours a day 6 days a week! Shane

    The beat buddy, does it connect to an Amp and is the cable provided and does it have a looper?

  • @GuitarAtWork

    @GuitarAtWork

    2 ай бұрын

    Hi Ronnie - yes, the BeatBuddy connects to an amp or a mixer. The 1/4’’ cable is not provided (standard guitar cable…). It does not have a looper onboard - it connects to a looper that has a midi connection (like the Aeros looper).

    Is it possible to barre the Bb chord using the ring finger and not mute the 1st (high E) string?

  • @GuitarAtWork

    @GuitarAtWork

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Dan - sure thing. It's tricky but it can be done. You'll have to invert your knuckle on the ring finger in order to pick up the high E string. It means you'll also need to barre with your first finger. Cheers! Shane
