Many diseases start with tooth or gum issues that go undetected or neglected. Yet dental care has been a distant stepchild of healthcare, and dentists are seen as focused specialists. The tools dentists have had for diagnosis, mainly X-rays, are challenging for even the best practitioners to use effectively and consistently. AI will change this. Using Videa Health's AI, dentists have been able to spot over 30% more dental conditions to address, and patients are more confident with the treatment recommendations. Florian Hillen is Founder & CEO of VideaHealth, a venture-backed company developing Artificial Intelligence to detect diseases in dental imaging, helping dentists to avoid missing diseases and offering better health services to their patients. Previously, he conducted research projects at the intersection of engineering and social science at MIT’s Institute for Data, Systems and Society and Harvard Business School, worked for McKinsey & Company and founded ninu, a digital healthtech start-up. He holds two masters degrees from MIT in Computer Science and Technology & Policy, a bachelors in Management & Technology and the first State exam in Medicine.
