Oh Selma Yoda is so cute !!
Thank you for your comments about Drops. As a designer I worry about people stealing my patterns! But even so I love the idea of a dickie! ❤❤❤❤
Oh, love the " kitty bum rug".
Hi Selma. I went to Lake Johnson today, and it is located in the city of Raleigh, NC, and it was lovely sitting on a bench and knitting a shawl/ blanket for my 11 and a half, almost 12 next month, granddaughter. I have worked on it for only a week on a 100 stitches cast in mainly purple colors in Stockingnet, and I watched people walking by and talking to some of them how much I like to knit. The view of the lake was beautiful watching the ripple of the water in the lake. I wore a green shawl with the Simone pattern I with eyelets in between of rows of the garter stitches. It turned out beautiful and the yarn is Rios with the color lettuce. I also finished knitting a summer blanket for covering myself at night which turned out beautiful. It is getting hotter here, and I am looking forward to covering myself with it at night. Take Care.😊

Hi Selma. Here in Australia I don't think most people would be aware of what a dickie is. It certainly isn't something that would be commonly worn given how warm most of Australia is. Of course there are some cold areas..... namely Tasmania, Victoria and the Snowy Mountains, but as I've never lived in these areas I don't know if people wear dickies there. I really like the colours you have put into your Dust of Snow. what a lovely pattern! What a glorious snow shoe adventure!
Great podcast! Thanks for the scrappy cat mat idea. I’ve got one going now. Lol. Lots of scraps and giving my kitty a designate comfy spot to be on certain furniture is a great plan. 😊cat

That was great! I would have used hiking poles too. I live near the Raritan river in NJ. The river never freezes because of all of the chemicals that were dumped in the river. We walk by the river all of the time. I always tell everyone that if they wore wool they would rarely be cold. The wind whips around the river but my wool keeps me warm!
@littlebigknits
Жыл бұрын
It sure does!! The only issue was the wind would come up through the gap at the ears so I think I need to think about a solution for that. The hat was warm enough but an extra covering for the ears may be necessary
I absolutely adore your wonderful podcasts. You are delightful and calming, and I think we’d be good friends if we ever met. Thank you for your work and for sharing your joys on this channel! 🥰

Your mug rugs are turning out great. I give them as Christmas gifts, along with a mug. I make mug rugs using the technique of double-knitting, incorporating a simple charted design. Mug rugs made that way are extra thick.

Seeing that you too, make mistakes, makes me feel better. lol. January I did not finish anything, because, I knit a whole sweater, except for one arm, and I didn't like it, so I ripped it all out, and reknit it in a different sweater pattern. Got the body all done and it is way too big, so I ripped it out again! The yarn is in time out! I'm now making the Little Cables Raglan with a different yarn, and so far, it's looking right. What a fun trip across a frozen lake!

I totally cracked up at Yoda’s expression during the “I need to show your rug on my podcast” negotiation… 😂. Wow wow I REALLY love the wool from Alberta you are using for your Dickie! The scrappy mug rugs are a great idea.
Enjoyed the footage at the end. That is what it is like every day where I live! North woods of MN on a lake. Noble Character Crafts has a lot of knitting and crochet podcasts on scrappy projects. She loves them and I agree they are wonderful. Very talented lady, beautiful, five children whom she homeschools and living on a large farm in Nebraska. A somewhat unique podcaster who has been doing it now for over 5 years I think. 156 episodes with the later being even richer in content. Thank you for your lovely podcast.
I had to chuckle when I saw your wrap with the unique shape as I was working on the habitation throw and somehow I went way off the rails and it was becoming a ruffled skirt (not quite but almost).. loved seeing the trek across the lake. Have a great week.

Thanks for your lovely images ❤ I envy you Canadians for your beautiful nature and your winter. Where I live, in Belgium, we nowadays only have a long summer and then autumn and spring. Winter, which used to be my favourite season unfortunately disappeared. Knitting up scraps of yarn is wonderful indeed. I’m knitting a climate wrap and can use lots of leftovers 😊 ❤
That sweater really picked out your beautiful blue eyes and gold hair. Loved seeing all your WIPs and Snowy Walk. Thanks Selma.

A story tale of woe. I would cry if I had to rip back so far with a deadline looming. Love the sweater you are wearing- and it looks great on you! Snore shoeing on the lake on a glorious winter’s day with a good friend and a charming destination- who could ask for more? Every time I see your lovely makes and yarn I am tempted to go on a shopping and cast on spree! 🫣I think Yoda is miffed that you took away her lovely cat mat to show us all- it is all about the cat! Hi Selma, enjoyed watching your podcast. May I suggest the Bits and Bobs blanket from kay Jones. I have now made 3, it is a scrappy blanket with 1 strand of fingering and then you add in your scraps. Its a k1 k1b construction, so no purls. its so squishy and pretty. Til next time.

Especially loved the snowshoe trek! Thank you so much for sharing that. What a beautiful spot and a lovely adventure for the day.
Your podcast was just what I needed! I had knitted a bottom up sweater all the way to the sleeves when I realized I was off gauge and my sweater was too big. I was so discouraged and disappointed and thought about just quitting. Then I saw your podcast. You were not discouraged, a little disappointed but just smiled and said oh well. That’s just the way knitting is. It took me a couple of days to come to terms with it but I frogged it and am starting again. It’s just knitting and mistakes are made. You just frog it and keep on going. Thank you for being so positive. You are a blessing to me for sure!

Your Dust of Snow is amazing!
This has been such a beautiful and relaxing episode, and I especially enjoyed the vlog segment from the frozen lake. And it was a pleasure seeing Yoda. On the chance that you haven't started tinking the Kallara shawl, I encourage you to keep going with it in freeform. Think of another segment with a "departure" from the pattern. Then bring it back in line with the pattern at the very end. I love how the mistake gives the design of the shawl an organic look.
