Mr. Hearn is a legend already. One day he will have his place in the synth pantheon right next to Mr. Moog, Smith, Oberheim etc.

The more I listen to George Hearn, the more I believe U.D.O is destined for longevity and greatness. This is the first time in my life I have parted with cash before trying out the product.

Fantastic interview I really hope UDO is here to stay and they will sell a shitload of super 6's George seems like a verry passionate man , the attention to detail etc..the overall construction of the synth , the NO curners cut approach ...all great stuff and it's exactly what we need in these (fucking ) behringer race to the bottom days Huray for U.D.O , huray for George

Really really good interview which helps explain the underpinnings and ethos of UDO and the Super 6. A lot of what George says in the interview really resonated with me. I particularly liked his quote at 34.31 where, in the context of designing the synth and not overloading the user with too many options that stifle creativity George says ‘just because you can doesn’t mean you should’. This has also been my ethos and very much supports the mantra in the creative world that less (in terms of features) can be more (in terms of creative output). I also respect George’s views on consumerism which is driving our global depletion of natural resources. The idea of buying fewer but better quality products that are designed to last and reward the user because they are well designed is something I can sign up to and applaud. It seems at times as though we as global consumers know the price of everything and the yet at times the value of nothing. I tried the Super 6 at SynthFest in Sheffield and was impressed. This interview has really helped ignite my interest. Looking forward to seeing the first units roll out and how users are getting on with it. Good luck George (and UDO) and thank you Mike. Thanks

Great interview! Like the UDO ethos. Waiting to see the Super 6, but George's approach to designing an instrument manages to convince that only great things can come out of this :)

This guy really gets it all. There are nuances in every aspect of art, science, design, and music. The way things are built, how they operate, yes even how they look and feel, is crucial to the end result. It’s hard to defend that, against a wall of online armchair engineers yelling about how simple and straightforward things are. When someone implies that there is one right way, or one good sound, this is the quickest way to know they have very little experience

Fabulous interview. Great share. My super 6 is on its way... and I am beyond stoked. So much inside that I did not realize before purchasing. Wow. Note I am not a synth guy... or a keyboard guy. Musician. Bass player. Vocalist. Noodler. Ready to evolve in musical creation... and this amazing instrument.

Wow, this was a fantastic and nerdy conversation about many interesting topics. I came here for some insights into George Hearn and the design of the UDO super 6 synthesizer, and got it in buckets. But I also got philosophical thoughts around synthesizers in general, the industry surrounding it, manufacturing, quality, sustainability and the future of synthesis. Probably a bit lengthy for most people, but I really enjoyed every bit of it!

Just finished watching the whole thing. I must say I'm immensely jealous of George's job! I wish I could break into this industry but alas I went down the computer programming route instead and now have a family to feed etc! Still great to see an old school pal doing so well. I really really need to have a play on a super 6!

34:51 Hi, would the possible future updates apply to the current gen of the super 6 via an Internet update? Or are you talking about a new machine release?. I assume the former but would appreciate confirmation if possible. Thank you and all the best to you and all
