I just discovered your videos today! WOW! They are outstanding. The only downside is you are encouraging me to spend money.
Interesting and educational with a timely reminder that "DIY" ( Do It Yourself) may also mean "Destroy It Yourself" and a Pro workshop can be less expensive in the long run.
Perfectionists
I really love these videos, no one else on youtube goes into as much detail as you guys, and your visual examples are amazing. As someone who has just bought one of these bikes, you're literally explaining the internals of it for me! Thanks guys!
Great video :)

⏳Waiting for one......
My RE mechanic quoted me $195 to install my cam. I find you data interesting and a lot has been learned about these cams since. Stock bike, I am seeing 50 hp with these cams and a tuner. 55 with a stage 2 cam.
Another very interesting in depth video , I have never heard any thing like this in years , Bill Bud back in the 1960 ,s at our youth club who use to come in and teach motor cycle tune ups .I think he was an ex TT I.O.M. ENGINEER . Not forgetting Marsh and Fry in our town who raced at the TT . Brings back sad memories of my late dads R.E 500 twin that blew the engine twice and was relergated to the roof in our bungalow for about 12 years ,before being sold as parts to fund my first bike . Keep it up and thanks for the education of old days passed .
Really clear. Love the fact you show power graphs, not just spout opinions. Thank you. Graham. 😎
Watch and learn. Excellent series of videos.
Since I just picked up my 2021 Interceptor 650 3 weeks ago and love it , I have since changed out the exhaust I can feel the engine wants more , air filter next , a K&N probably , cheaper here in Perth . Thanks guys for your channel , its what Australia needs as these bikes are awesome and very popular . ps. I am an engine builder at home ( Mopar ) and a Fitter welder by trade , so yes the S&S cam shaft is on the cards .

Love the level of detail you provide and the honest % improvements one can expect to see with various mods. Keep it up!!!
Can’t fault them brilliant and give us the information we need
Wish all these quality performance parts were commonly available for my W650. Enjoying the vids.
I appreciate these vids tremendously. As a new rider the insight into the goings on between my legs is invaluable.

Thanks for your videos. I am seeing you with great interest on the other side of planet Earth (Portugal).
you explained the stock and modified setup perfectly at the end there. great job, my 650 Intercepter is getting slip-ons, BMC filter, Powertronics ECU but now l wanna get the cams done too!! lol
Commendable presentation and enthusiasm with loads of real information 👍 (knowing the information shared isn't limited to RE interceptors only, it's applicable in other models/makes too)
Hello! Amazing video!
I've put cams in other bikes, but when I realized some time ago that you have to change the spring shims on this one, and probably while your at it do porting , (since it should be removed) unless you use the compressed air technique, I decided not to for go that mod since I don't have a shop any more and live in the provinces of the Philippines. (that just means I can't just run out and get parts easily) . Great reality check for those inexperienced would be do it yourself types, and you make a valid point to seek professional help on this kind of mod for the RE.

That wasn't a surprise guys. You just dropped a nuke. So you making me rethink my 865 project 😄
WOW for the shock......
Love your videos and all the informations about the 650 interceptor :D Im struggling on what to do, my first thought was to stay with the stock...now im dreaming of the S&S camshaft and new set of exhaust..the big bore kit would be awesome but illegal in italy LoL XD But i think 6to8% HP will give a nice funny push to my Indie, and that's all for me. Greetings from Sicily :D
Still enthralling stuff guys - when do you start pondering bigger/additional braking in this journey of increased power...... or am I getting ahead of myself..???
I love your videos! I hope to get a continental GT soon! Why haven’t y’all uploaded in the last year if I may ask?

Enjoy your presentations...Its a pity there are no folk like yourselves up here in Brisbane. Would like to go the 650 HC slugs , cam and tuner road, but I seem to hit a blank wall with dealers up here. Ive just spent the kids inheritance on suspension, so I'm now comfortable going a bit quicker in the hills.

Guys great video, what please are the HP and torque ratings for the upgraded cam and High Compression pistons
@Revelry Cycles - Thanks for the great video, really enjoying your knowledge sharing. I think a lot of people like myself really want to know more about how their motorcyles work. Does the S&S cam make the bike sound any different? Cheers!
@RevelryCycles
3 жыл бұрын
Yes. There is a bit of added lope at idle. If you add compression it changes it further as it revs much quicker
Maybe worth mentioning the tradeoffs (negatives) for the mods - How much they affect emissions, fuel consumption and noise? Right, I've pinned the accent - Dennis Weaver (McCloud).
💯
My first time here. Brillant video! I like stock original and not interested in going for more power unless it translates into better gas mileage and longer engine life. Do you have numbers on gas mileage? Just finishing a ten week 5,000 mile trip and I Love My Royal Enfield INT 650!! Thanks for what you are doing.
Great videos, very informative. If you don't want to go a big bore kit, what do you guys think are the best high compression pistons to get?

Hi good job! I am thinking to swap my cam to a stage 1,and I like to know the power gains with dynojet comand, and free-flowing exh. do you have any data on this? I did see on stage 2 one that performance around 55 hp on wheel. Thanks in advance
This is the only place on the internet I have found any amount of stock cam specs. You guys wouldn't happen to have the duration specs on hand would you?
I just installed the s and s camshaft for my interceptor 650...i have already installed it with a dna airfilter, mufflers, powertronics piggyback ecu and a quickshifter. The bike now has a big idling problem when the engine is hot. Whenever i try to crank the engine it just struggles to start and quickly dies but the problem is not present at cold starts .The low end is also unusally jerky and jittery...but the bike pulls clean after 4k rpm.I am currently using a fuel map for the s and s mufflers and cam with air cleaners...i dont seem to understand what the real issue is.....any advice would be grateful
Love your content. Advice you to pls improve the audio levels.
Gracias por la explicación. Una consulta, si se cambia el árbol de levas es necesario reprogramar la ECU para qué haya más combustible? Saludos

I know enough about this stuff to appreciate the logical sequence of episodes, the level of detail including the props and hands on demonstrations that I appreciate the quality and value of what you are doing. You do need to work on developing proper Aussie accents though! well done!
Hi , nice detailed info. Would we need to upgrade the springs for reliability, with a higher lift cam. Or would the shims take care of it
@RevelryCycles
2 жыл бұрын
Unless you're expecting to go WELL out beyond the stock rev limit, the shims supplied with the kit are plenty.
At 4:38 - are the timing specs for stock cam or S&S cam?
No new videos coming up on the 965 that you mentioned?
I wish you were in the states. I’m sure I can find a competent machine shop, but none with experience in the stuff you do!
If one was going to go to the bother of the dismantling involved in fitting the cam, is it a case of you may as well do the high-compression pistons while you're at it?
@RevelryCycles

That would be more efficient than opening it up twice.
I’m in Reno, I wish you guys were local. Is it possible to buy a big bore twin as a fully built crate motor?
@RevelryCycles
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff (Santina here) I grew up in Northern NV, I know Reno well. Can do a crate motor but it’s pretty cost prohibitive. If you’re seriously considering it please email info@revelrycycles.com.au
What is the cost of improved camshaft
My guess is you'll swap out the stock crank for one having an approximately 4mm longer throw (8mm longer stroke) and use the 865 90mm bore to a get your 965?

Labour times are discussed in the video
Hello I'm planning to install s&s cam on interceptor 650, I already have installed slip-on, DNA air filter, and powertronic piggyback ECU. If I install S&S camshaft with these already installed, do I need to install any custom map on the powertronic ECU or stock powertronic ECU maps will do the job? I asked several leads I had but it is of no use.
@RevelryCycles
3 жыл бұрын
The default map that comes with the powertronic will generally suffice. It will almost certainly run just fine. Of course to get the best performance you'll need to tune each bike, preferably on a dyno.
