Same. I hope this act of commenting is not too distant from the good of that person going to Heaven, and can therefore be morally regarded as "cooperation with good" 🤔😂

Thank you. I am from the U.K The sermons in my parish are pressing upon getting the vaccine and recite the same reasons you have mentioned in the first part of the discussion. I follow homeopathic principles and therefore disagree on many aspects of pharmaceutical vaccination. I appreciate your post from a non judgemental view point.

Hi Valerie, my girlfriend is a doctor and she is interested in homeopathy.. I did a quick research and I found that it has no scientific evidence supporting that it’s actually healing people more than a placebo and I couldn’t get deeper. By chance, do you have any thoughts or recommended lectures on this topic?

I agree with all the reasons about charity, the common good, and moral cooperation mentioned. But i disagree with the entire fear narrative being pushed out there that this is a situation were we need to recur to major vaccination program when the numbers of both mortality and recovery show us a different reality. More suspicious are the main companies that are offering a vaccine, being avid fund supporters of the Institute Pasteur that as in Shanghai and Wuhan extensive research on this same "situation". I think we should not adopt so called "solutions" in a rushed way just because there is an intent to make a power control grab at every level on the Western World and investigate beyond the Fear and Confusion narrative wall being propagated.

Right on. I think the Dominicans overall are getting their info from the mainstream media collective; at least it seems as much. Most of their reasoning related to this uses authority arguments - MIT degrees, degrees in moral theology, degrees, and more degrees. Not enough information about & attention to the children who died to produce these vaccines.

After checking out the link you enclosed, I could not help think this episode 'principles to guide your decision' on this subject is biased. There are people like microbiologist and author Pamela Acker discusses vaccinations extensively and how it has effected her studies. Father Pine, does your brother have an opinion you could share with your listeners on Acker's book, 'Vaccination - A Catholic Perspective'?

Hi dear friars! Have you ever watched a KZread channel called Closer to Truth? It has a very interesting approach and I think it would be helpful to count with a Catholic answer the issues covered there! Some of them very easy to attach to our faith, some others not that much. Anyways I hope you read this. Thank you so much for your service to the Church 🙌🏻 🤍

If Starbucks donates to Planned Parenthood, WHY do you NOT consider patronizing Starbucks a sin??? I must say I find that quite disturbing and I'm disappointed.

  • @benhutchinson9808

Because of the principle of remote cooperation with evil. It's why you don't sin when you go to the supermarket and buy some instant coffee, even though the beans may have been harvested by slave labour in some third world country.

@@benhutchinson9808 Not quite the same thing. I don't condone slavery, but slave labor is not equal to knowingly, murdering babies. Perhaps you have no qualms about sucking down your favorite Starbucks latte, but some of us choose to opt out on principle.

But you only choose to opt out of some things on principle, right? This also may be the first time I've seen someone seek to rank things like slavery and abortion to justify why they opt out of some things that are remote cooperation and don't on others 😂

I have to say, I disagree with your point regarding starbucks. If you support a company that you know, as a matter of fact, supports and actively donates money to abortion agencies with funds they've raised from consumers, then isn't it morally reprehensible to continue supporting such a company? The justification of being so far removed from the sin is questionable. It goes without saying by without money, Starbucks can't donate to planned parenthood which in turn cannot enable the practice of abortion. I accept that ignorance plays a part in this as well since we can never know where every company we trade with spends their profit. Once revealed though, don't we have a moral obligation to spend our money elsewhere, especially if alternatives exist?

Honestly buying starbucks isn't the best analogy. I don't know if buying starbucks is sinful, and I don't have any authority to claim that it is, but I will say that it is morally dubious even if it is remote material cooperation with evil. With buying from starbucks one is only trying to benefit oneself, whereas one might get the vaccine in pursuit of the common good. That's my take on it at least.

  • @Seethi_C

If being far removed doesn’t change the equation in your mind, then you would literally have to live as a hermit to avoid any cooperation with evil. By simply watching this video, you are supporting Google (which owns KZread) who financially supports Planned Parenthood. So are we all obligated to delete our KZread accounts and never use them again?

@@oldchurches not true. Take a look at the hospitalisation and death rates in Republican towns and cities. The combination of : 1. Continuing to socialise with family and friends . Even older more vulnerable ones. 2. Not being vaccinated 3. Deliberately attending mass events The result is that the death rate in USA was much higher for republicans than for democrats. No other country had outcomes that were changed by political belief. Americans are proud to be self reliant but also self centred. As Europeans we think of our community. Young healthy individuals had the vaccine to protect the older sicker members of society. As an aside, nearly a third of a million school age children lost one or both parents to covid. And death per capita was higher in America than any other country. If a new wave comes America will suffer again. Rather believing in Jesus than science. Good luck with that.
