Listen up, folks. Danny Elliott is a hero. He knows what this stuff is and he's getting rid of it right. If you don't do this, there is a more than even chance it's going to turn into scrap metal. Imagine most of that stuff going to the scale, because no one knew what it was. Turns out I didn't go first, so I have to deal with three life-collections of crap, most of which I know nothing about. For my stuff, I didn't have any kids or grandkids that were interested, so I gave my roller, a '68 Mustang, to my eldest niece for graduation, which she never took out from under the cover, but her sister's husband fell in love with it so now it's cared for. The rest of my stuff I will find a good home for. But what about all of this other stuff? I don't have any context for why this or that might be important. Danny moved his stuff along while he is still around to provide that context. I believe the phrase the military uses is 'get your affairs in order'. Don't leave your family or friends to deal with your affairs. Move your stuff along while you are still around. Thanks, Mr. Elliott.

There was a time when I pursued classic cars, restored some, had as daily drivers many of them, and I was always bothered by those people who wouldn't sell some old gem yet they left it there to rot. It just makes no sense. If you don't have it in you to get it done sell it to someone who will. It is a part of our automotive history and we should preserve as many of these old cars as we can. Side note, I am 64 and my first car ever was a 57 Chevy Belair with a three speed on the floor. I drove that car like I was demon possessed. So many good memories!

You need to start with $ 18,250 just for the basic body for a New improved 1957 Chevy convertible from Reel Deal Steel. Needs front parts, fenders, grill, trim and accessories, etc. Still a great deal 👌 Wealth of parts seems highly appropriate here.

Great story, thanks for taking us along. I thought to myself the man was not only honest but generous. He could have easily sold only the basic shell, frame, fenders ect. and the rest on Ebay or others. I was blown away when he pulled out NOS manifolds, tissue dispenser in the old green GM box. You could have knocked me over when he opened those correct green floor mats. I've been looking for a set for my Impala for years. Good luck to the buyer, been there done that, it will be a memorable jigsaw journey. Cheers.

Well, sadly, most people you meet today are not even interested in restoring a classic 1957 Chevy. It seems people now just want a modern car to drive. Classic car rebuilding takes time, money, & lots of energy. Its nice to see a new owner family who appreciates this great classic car. Might take some time but, when this car is back driving on the road it will be a wonderful event. Wishing many fun filled driving days and nights to come!

This gentleman is a plethora of information ...I hope the new owner enjoys the restoration part even though it's a long process and can get expensive..but what they will have in the end will be a joy to have and drive. Sadly I lost dad 3 yrs ago to cancer and did the same thing with over 8 cars ..I kept 1 a 63 - 421 w/ factory 6 pack ( 3 - 2 barrel carbs) convertible and a rare factory A/C. my 4 boys and 1 girl are already battling to who gets it when I go... I haven't told them that their grandfather told me who he wanted to see it go to

That man is beyond being just a mere treasure. In treasure form it would require combining everything ever found in The Valley Of The Kings in Egypt to be his equal because he not only is willing to part with a rare find of a car, but also not only has pretty much every part and every option that it could have been ordered with including extremely rare ones but he has duplicates of so many parts that more cars could be rebuilt from the spare parts, and he has and shares the knowledge about each individual part ranging from how rare each is, where he got it, when he got it, how much he paid for it and what it’s current actual value is for each and every piece. Then his knowledge of and stories about the cars actual history and his desire to share it and his wanting the car to go to a good home to be completed and having a smile on his face and a happiness in his voice while doing this even as he not only watches such a big part of his life being loaded up but even helping to load it up and saying what parts need to be put in the truck to be better protected. You don’t find people like him very often and most people would either let it sit there until they die or would have sold it all in 30 different directions years ago.

When you guys run the original oil bath air cleaners make sure you use dexron transmission fluid you can overfill it just to hair helps lubricate the valves and it will filter out three times more dirt.

Yeah. It probably never made him rich but it sure made him happy, which is better than rich. I love people with his fire, it doesn't even matter what it is. They will always enrich your life and open doors you might never have done yourself.

If only I could find a way to pass myself off as his long lost grandson. ;) Seriously though Mr. Elliot has some interesting stories and kind enough to include a lot of extras with that beautiful 57 convertible. I hope we get to see an update on this down the road.

Wow, what a great find, lucky guy! Not to mention all the nice spare parts in your deal. Loved the seller, great story teller, could listen to him some more, lol. He definitely knew his 57 Chevys.

Oh wow, all that treasure stored up, and now it's time for it to go and be put back together into driveable machines once again. What a guy, he must be feeling very sad now it's all gone. I hope they can get it up and running in time so he can see it making someone's dream come true. I just love these finds put into film.
