On the slim chance that you guys read your posted comments, I would like to plead with you that if you do end up just flipping it, that you will sell it to someone who will restore it to stock showroom condition. This is a rather rare example having factory power windows. This car really deserves to be restored to stock and not turned into a modified or customized piece of crap. Factory original restoration all the way. Thank you for having saved this gem!!

I grew up in Hamilton, New Zealand and our neighbours across the road purchased a brand new 1957 Chevrolet Belair; same Yellow as this but Black Roof where this one is White, right hand drive for New Zealand roads !!! I always remember that car and have always loved the 1957 Chevrolet Belair, he kept it for around 10 or so years and then purchased a new big beautiful Chevrolet Station Wagon which might have been a 1967 or 1968 model, it was a Teal Blue colour with alot of shiny Chrome on it, one of the most beautiful looking cars I had ever seen as a young boy growing up. I love the International Harvester Scout that you are looking at ~ I'm a Diesel Mechanic by trade and served my Apprenticeship at International Harvester Company of New Zealand Ltd at their Hamilton branch from 1974 until 1977 and remember the Scout although not many were imported into New Zealand. Thankyou and much Respect for the great video guys really enjoyed watching this. All the very best with the restoration of the 1957 Chevrolet 👍😎👍 Belair. PS : Hope you get the Scout !!!

So I could get behind the drivers seat ,and when there done ,arm out the window for a proud job well done ,so keep the memories rolling $ tell me anyone who would not want hang out with guys ,just give me a broom and I would sweep the floor for free and chance to enjoy it hands on! I might sound goofy but they bring rust to a new cool , so keep rolling !

I used to run around witha kid who had a nice packard in the sixties. His dad was a dentist, they lived in a very nice home in the woods. His dad bought it to make it look like someone was always home when they were gone to keep the burglers away. When my friend, his son, became driving age he would take it out all the time and we'd go on double dates in it. It was a very roomy and comfortable car. It was huge compared to today's cars.

I bought my husband a 1973 Triumph GT6MK3. There were only 500 sent over from England, and it has a plaque on the dash proving it's authenticity. It needs breaks and a lot of work like a new firewall, flooring, and the seats track straightened, but the paint is good. When I drove it over to storage about 10 years ago the engine purred. He wanted it so bad because he had one years back but he's never even drove it or been behind the wheel.

Mt grandmother on my dads side lived in Tucson, Az and back in 1990 I went to see her after she had a stroke. She had one like the one in this video and it was orange with a white top. It was her baby. They lived west of town in the desert and my uncle let me drive it to the store. Man was it a blast. There was 1 problem tho. EVERYONE knew her scout and a shit load of people at the store thought I had stolen it. lol. Great memories.

You guys in the US are so fortunate that so many of these places exist. I have been on farms in the uk and literally in a pile of trash in the side of a barn missing the majority of its roof i found a vintage shell oil pourer in great condition. Guess it got knocked over when it was full of oil so it protected it. Thing is worth like 600. These old places are a gold mine if you appreciate old stuff

Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought mine back in 63 still have it, I drove it for years then I park it for 25 years and then started to fix it back in 2009. Took 9 years to do, but looks good and the best part is, I put it together myself, that took 6 months, six days a week and 10 hour days, but I can say...I put every not and bolt myself....Ohhh, the guy that did the body work, used Lead !!! and the color is Black...that is unforgiving to body work. Hope to see this one in the future, I know that lance and Wyatt will have fun.

I was born in 1961. And my parents drove me home from the hospital in the family car. A 1957 Chevy Belair. Ours was black with red interior. So technically, the 57 Chevy Belair is the first car I ever rode in. Definitely evokes some nostalgia. Would love to see what your find looks like after you guys rehab it. Great video!

Bought my '57 Olds 98 Starfire for $75 in 1964 at 16... perfect condition but dealer couldn't get it to start... had a hidden break in the coil wire... possibly a sabotaged re-possession or something... very fast for the time... came with 371" 4 bbl. V8, 4 speed Hydramatic tranny, dual glasspacks exhaust, Atlas Bucron drag tires, possibly a cam... 135-140 MPH top end... maybe more...

At first I thought the scout was a 800A then you showed the inside and BAM! It’s actually a HALF CAB with a 800A top!!! The motor is literally the left side of a Chevy 350. It’s called a slant 4 if it fits a 350 it fits the slant 4. I’ve had 2 of them and they are awesome little trucks. The front axle is literally a rockwell axle in front of a Dana 20 Tcase. Great find guys
