Holy crap! That is N4LT! I have a bunch of hours in that plane! I know the history of her going all the way back to the 1980's!!!

Continental engines just sound so good! Even my little O-300 at 145 hp just has that great sound.

Love it! Just bought a '61 182C this weekend & flew it 7 hours home from Florida just yesterday (to Texas) with hopes of doing these same exact mods almost to a T (Airglas, SPW mount, G5's, MT prob, Pponk, BAS... he's building my plane!). Been watching on BCP as well. Watched your Franklin 172 with great interest too!

I’ve been watching his thread on bcp for a while and love what he is doing! I bought a ‘58 in September with intentions of doing a build much the same!

I think maybe more HP! He's got high compression pistons and a killer exhaust. He's going to put electric ignition on it too... It'll be a sweet ride for sure!

The AV8R's Are you familiar with Backcountry182 ?

Yep! Larry's a great guy and an OUTSTANDING pilot! This will be a similar performer to his. I like the older cessna's; the gear is stronger and they are typically lighter. Thanks for the comment!

It's like polishing a turd! God I hate Cessna! How many times I've almost died in a Cessna! So unpredictable, always engine problems! I don't even like the way they sound when your cruising in one.

I had an engine failure in a 150. Actually made me respect the plane. Pretty decent at the impossible turn. I never felt like I was going to die; just the opposite... Rely on your training, rely on the airfoil; and make it happen.@@jimmason8502

I've only seen engine problems in Cessna's…. sooooooo unpredictable too... I love my 182, one of the best GA airplanes to own and operate.

Rand- ster1 haha that’s silly! 😝 the engine doesn’t really have much to do with the aircraft manufacturer considering Cessna’s use Continental and Lycoming... the same engines as 90% of the other aircraft manufacturers out there.
