I love how most desert plants utilize energy to create spines to protect them from herbivores and allows them to protect water reserves needed for the desert heat.

Loved that you slept in the bathroom, more comfortable than the tent full of sand. Enjoy beautiful Namibia. What a great idea to have your own personal bathroom and toilet while camping !!

You were probably wise not to climb a big dune. I tried once in Morocco, to watch the sunrise over the desert. It was so hard. The sand was very fine. You slipped back so much you had to do 3 or 4 steps to get 1 step forwards. After about a third of the way up I gave up and sat right there to enjoy the sunrise. Some of the party didn't even make it that far.
