We're taking you along on our epic adventure to Namibia's Etosha National Park, where we got to witness the breathtaking beauty of Africa's Big Five animals. From majestic elephants to fierce lions to the rare rhinos and everything in between, we were in awe of the stunning wildlife that roams this incredible park. And of course, we couldn't forget about the giraffes, zebras, and other creatures that call Etosha home.
But the real highlight of Etosha National Park is the watering holes. At night, they are lit up and become the source of all the action. It's an incredible sight to see, as you get to witness the animals in their natural habitat, interacting with one another and drinking from the watering holes. You'll definitely want to have your camera ready for this!
During our trip, we had the unique opportunity to self-drive through the park in our rooftop camper truck. It was an amazing experience to be able to explore the park at our own pace, stopping to take in the sights and sounds of this stunning wilderness. We'll share our tips and tricks for navigating the park on your own and show you what it's like to camp under the stars in the heart of Africa.
So join us on this unforgettable adventure to Etosha National Park, as we witness the beauty of the Big Five animals, experience the magic of the watering holes, and go on a self-driving adventure through the wilderness. Hi Nick, great video. We're just planning our trip to Namibia and found your videos super helpful. Would you be able to share your itinerary (days/where you spent the night) and perhaps where you would have loved to spend more time/would have loved to go if you had had more time? Thanks in advance! Enjoy your next trips

    Of course! We would be happy to share our itinerary - please see below. Honestly, we do not know that there is anything that we would have spent more time on because we felt as though aside from Etosha, most of the spaces were perfect for just a day for us. We are people that like to wake up early and pack everything in though and, as you can see from the itinerary, it was a lot of driving so just something to note. We actually paired our two-week trip with a few days in Cape Town, South Africa! Namibia Itinerary (parenthesis are where we stayed that night) Day 1 - Windhoek Vehicle Pick up, Drive toward Etosha (Okahandja Country Hotel Campsite) Day 2 - Etosha (Halali Camp) Day 3 - Etosha (Okaukuejo Camp) Day 4 - Etosha (Olifanstrus Camp) Day 5 - Spitzkoppe (Spitzkoppe Community Restcamp) Day 6 - Cape Cross, Skeleton Coast, Swakopmund (Skeleton Beach Backpackers) Day 7 - Sandwich Harbor (Skeleton Beach Backpackers) Day 8 - Drive / Sossusvlei (Sesriem Camp) Day 9 - Sossusvlei / Drive (Luderitz Villelodge Accommodation) Day 10 - Kolmanskop / Drive (Windhoek Arrebusch Travel Lodge) If you have any other questions, let us know!

    Thank you! You will have a fantastic time I'm sure! The drone situation is a bit sticky and there are a lot of restrictions of where/how you can/can't fly. I'd recommend checking out more online!

    At which waterholes did you see the rhinos?

  • @StNickTravels

    @StNickTravels

    2 жыл бұрын

    We actually saw Rhinos at each of the three waterholes at the camps we stayed at (Halali, Okaukuejo, Olifanstrus). You can visit these during the day but we actually saw them every night at dusk and in the evening since the waterholes were lit up at night! Of the three safaris we have done, also including Kruger and Maasai Mara, Etosha is where we saw the most rhinos, by far!

    Incredible and gorgeous place, it gives a small glimpse into what southern Africa looked like before European's arrived there in the 1600's and then of course went on to kill most animals in that area.

    Hello! We did bring in all of our groceries into the park, meat included, and did not see any signs stating otherwise. We got that little book at the store in Okaukuejo, the main camp in the park. Highly recommend as it was a fun way to identify and keep track of the animals we saw!

  • @StNickTravels

    @StNickTravels

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi there! We were there in late-July / early-August. We think that the animal viewing in September would be pretty similar. It should be near the end of the dry season and dry season in Namibia is best as the animals congregate near the watering holes. We think it would be a great time, enjoy!
