DEADVLEI - The most SURREAL place on EARTH
Deadvlei is a white clay pan located near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia.
Dead Vlei has been claimed to be surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world, the highest reaching 300-400 meters (350m on average, named "Big Daddy" or "Crazy Dune"), which rest on a sandstone terrace.
The clay pan was formed after rainfall, when the Tsauchab river flooded, creating temporary shallow pools where the abundance of water allowed camel thorn trees to grow. When the climate changed, drought hit the area, and sand dunes encroached on the pan, which blocked the river from the area.
The trees died, as there no longer was enough water to survive.
The remaining skeletons of the trees, which are believed to have died 600-700 years ago (ca. 1340-1430), are now black because the intense sun has scorched them. Though not petrified, the wood does not decompose because it is so dry.
Films partly shot there include The Cell, The Fall, and Ghajini.

Nice vid, tho i wish there was a shot of it at night. This place looks like it's rendered in unity engine

You're right, a night shot would be really awesome!
It's crazy to me how, no matter how many aerial views or pan shots I see, it still looks like straight out of a painting. I think it's the way the desert fog diffuses the light or something but either way, excellent footage!

Thank you so much! Yes, it really is absolutely stunning. I still get chills remembering that day...
The dead camel trees were probably the inspiration for the "special trees" in the monumentmythos series

Amazing video man. I'll be there in 2 weeks. I also want to fly my drone there. Did you need to get any permissions beforehand?

This is where aamir khan’s guzarish song was shot.❤
An absolute great video I chanced upon. Your photos are stunning. We are a grp of photographers and intend to visit Deadvlei. One of our interest is astro photography, ie shooting star trails and milkway using the trees as back drop. In your video also shown a segment of star galzing. How is it possible to stay for the night (some star trails may take 3 hrs or more) since the 2nd gate closes ard 8pm if we understand correctly. Any idea are we allowed to stay inside?
Amazing What's the music name?
I thought this is not real i wish i can go there.

Whatever happened here happened quick and it happened to the entire planet. Looks like a shift of balance and the world is still recovering. First thing that comes to mind is earth axis shift. Would explain the disappearance of civilizations and turning ocean to land and land to ocean. If it is the case then we are way off in our timeline.
Deadvlei is on desert with dead camel trees in inspiration for moumentmythos "special trees" series on the earth
so, yall know that one layer in Dante's Inferno that's just a bunch of trees to represent suicides? This is it, I think we found a gateway to the afterlife, but not really
