EP 75 New Mexico Dispersed Camping

In this video I begin on my 4th day of vacation in New Mexico. I lost my first 3 days of video content due to a bad SD card. AND I was not backing up footage each evening. Lesson learned. Here I have an awesome camp spot in the Cibola National Forest (southern NM) and ride some trails on the SxS with my pup's.
I experienced a mechanical break-down on the trail 18 miles from my truck and spent a nite out searching and waiting on help. This was not a life-threating or medical situation so no 911 call. I just needed help to get to my vehicle.
Assistance was found and I made it back to my truck/camp. LOT'S of thanks go out to Scott (recovery) and my best friend Chad (finding the help).
This will be a pretty good camp fire story.

fantastic adventure. Never fun with a breakdown though. great you made it out and what a guy who came to tow you out. Like those dogs would like to see them in action retrieving some ducks.

Adventure; Yes. Lol. Yea, the gentleman Scott, drove 3 hours to get to me, 2 hours to get me to my truck and then 3.5 hours back home. All “on” Thanksgiving Day. Moose & Katie have been fantastic camping/riding dogs. Moose just chills and Katie never stops, I guess to make up for Moose.

Yea man, a good campfire story. I already carry some SxS spares (belt, axles, battery, lug nuts, fuses, tie rods, spark plugs, hoses, clamps, fluids, brake pads, etc) and emergency supplies but after this little excursion I double-downed and made a personalized survival/overnite kit for solo traveling. One Rubbermaid 24 GAL storage bin and “only” what I can fit inside goes. Turns out that I can pack enough stuff in the tote to probably be semi-comfortable and entertain a SxS overlanding/camping night. New adventure !! I enjoy your video’s as well, keep em coming.

Awesome video! Glad nothing happened to you while waiting for help to arrive. I will have to check out this section of the Cibola National Forest. Lots of good riding out there. Take care man.

@@ChesapeakeBayProductions I have been busy with my boys and family. This last year was slow, but I do have a video coming up on the channel before the end of the week. I am enjoying your videos. It seems you know New Mexico better than I do and it is my home state haha.

@@ManzanoManATVAdventures ha-ha. i'm a nerd about planning. For NM, I probably spent 3 months watching video's of areas, studying maps, setting PINS & Routes in Gaia GPS and taking notes. I also marked second chance/emergency camp spots, nearby supply stores distances, veterinarian hospital locations, prescribed fire burn areas & closed roads. OK MAN, can't wait for your next video. Take care.
